Q: Does this jacket have straight sides or is it more fitted?

It’s in between. It doesn’t not have the box cut, and is not fitted at the waist. I have a larger abdomen (apple shape) and this jacket has a feminine cut that will compliment any physique. An overall great jacket.

Q: What color are the buttons?

The color would be called "brushed nickel" in the world of door knobs and cabinet hardware.

Q: I’m 5’2” and 125 lbs. Would a small or medium be better?

The white and the blue denim are made of different materials so they fit slightly differently, but both are comfy. I am 5'4" and 132 lbs and I have both of these jackets in Large. The white one is roomy (but not too baggy) and the blue one is more fitted. My guess is that Medium would be better for you, but if you like them especially snug then go with a Small. Good luck!
