Worth every penny
On a job recently, we used a Freeman that the company bought, it was OK, kept double-firing. So-so product. I ordered this gun because I personally want the best tool I could get my hands on and this is the best gun in this price range. This gun is a beast, well-built, nice case and I bought the Toolhangers hook that is actually for the older Max because I didn't see one for this model (more one that later). I love the narrow tip, easy to put the nail right where you want it. This thing hits HARD. First roll was .90 2 inch ring shank and it took a second to get the first nail tucked in front of the piston, this isn't a bad thing, it's a precision mechanism. So load the roll, rotate the spool up to the size of the nails which keeps the feeding straight. I suspect this and the tight fit of the piston behind the first nail to be fired is why this gun is known for not jamming. The nails are not loose anywhere in the chain unlike the Freeman.Firing this gun is a breeze, first off, there is no switch for sequential of bump-fire, if you want bump fire simply hold the trigger down and hit the material and it will bump as fast as you can hit it. If you want sequential, simply depress the tip and then pull the trigger. This is important for safety, the gun is locked and loaded the second you take the safety off so as soon as you are done firing, click the safety back on. You don't want the gun hanging on your belt and somehow the trigger gets caught on something at the same time the tip gets bumped. Not likely but it could happen. I love this feature though because I don't have to stop to switch between modes or starting a job in the wrong mode. Not a biggy for you DIY'ers but it's important for us pros.I like the Depth-adjustment wheel, it's notched and easy to set and no matter how much air the tool is getting it fires consistently at that depth. Want counter-sink? No problem it's a beast, surface only? it does it all day long as long as the material is the same. It will not double-fire so you don't have to worry about recoil contact, that is sweet and makes the job go faster. And speaking of recoil, this gun has less recoil than the Freeman. It feels more solid than the Freeman. The only knock is the hook, it's plastic, janky-looking and too small to be useful. I replaced it with the Toolhanger 11815 blue hook. It's meant for the older Max and i could only install the main bolt but it seems solid and with the arm tucked against the body of the gun, it fit back into the case, awesome indeed. The inlet is 1/4 inch so get a swivel plug for that when you order. Comes with Safety glasses too so that's cool.If you're a DIY guy and want-need the best gun, this makes your work look more like a pro. The extra you spend means that it won't double-fire, it won't jam and it performs consistently every single time. You don't have to get back your technique when you pick it up once a year, just oil it up and go. If you are a pro yeah the Hitachis are good and probably the Makita and Bostitch too but this gun is the top of the heap as far as normal pressure guns go. I'm gonna laugh at the first carpy that asks to use this gun. Get your own pal. Just because you're too cheap to buy this gun doesn't entitle you to use mine. I didn't pay $400 for someone to borrow. I buy the best tools and I take care of them. This is the last siding gun I expect to ever buy and also as a side note: Buy guns that guys can and will rebuild meaning guys will rebuild this no problem but probably don't want to touch a piece of junk like the Freeman. In spite of the silly hook, it's a five-star gun and we all use Toolhangers anyway so no biggy.

Worth the cost for this nailer.
This has got to be the best siding and fence nailer i've used to date.I just finished installing 60 pieces of louisiana-pacific wood siding and had only 2 jams. Both jams were due to the nail coil having first a bent nail towards the beginning and another that was a kink in the coil which was pretty bad and due to the manufacturer of the nails . It was easy to clear and went on an shot the rest of the coil without any problems at all. Once I set the depth adjustment 4 The Siding it did not readjust at any time. There were a few nails that were Proud by 1/8 of an inch but that was due to the framing probably a knot or something. So I had to tap them in with my hammer but out of all the nails that I shot through the gun not one nail set below the surface of The wood siding. I am very impressed with this product and like all of my work tools I tried to buy the best possible tool well some may cost a little more they last forever and never have problems. I've always said buy Cheap get cheap.Edit:18 thousand nails now shot through this nailer and no jams or double fire. Oil it before you start your day, keep it clean and it wont fail. This is well built and as good as you can get if you use it for a living. Far better than my matabo i sent back.
