seems to be a direct replacement for the old ones that had rusted up.

Not a direct replacement
Not really a direct replacement as it states. These were open too much to work as they were. I had to crush them down quite a bit to be able to make it work.

Better than OEM clips
These headlight housing clips were easy to install. I like there is 2 ears with holes on the clips. For easy removal. I didn’t order new clips when I ordered new headlight housings for my 2002 Ford F-350. Of course 3 of the 4 old original clips broke. The new clips came early the next day after I ordered them. Plus I have 6 spare clips I didn’t use,just in case.
