A great alternative to V mount batteries
The price of a V mount battery is Horrific, you have to do a lot of filming to justify the cost. having already about 5/6 Sony NP-F batteries this has proven a useful entry into filming

ALMOST PERFECT PIECE OF KIT.
FINALY!! I have found a way to extend power time to my Sony camera using this Small Rig battery adapter plate using it with Small Rig Sony FW50 dummy battery.I have recently tried a set up with a Fotga dummy battery for powering the camera with a power bank.. and 2 different brands of video light and a 5 inch monitor. The Fotga option failed miserably because the fitment of the Fotga dummy battery is very poor. It failed to fit the 5 inch monitor (Small HD) and would not stay in place on a Neewer video light. I do use Neewer brand NP F550 batteries and find they do the job well and obviously less expensive the the Sony brand. BATTERY IS A TIGHT TO START WITH just do SOME TEST INSTALLS AND IT GETS AN EASIER FIT. Yes it is plastic but seems well made. I can trust this item /brand. I think it is worth paying a bit extra for a known brand like Small Rig.

This product is of poor quality
I bought a SMALLRIG NP-F Lite, upon inspection, I noticed that the power legs were bent. Returned it back.

Lighter but not better
This item is an update to the original NP-F battery holder. It’s light for sure but also plastic, when the original was metal and featured a battery level indicator. The original featured a mounting thread in the middle which clearly would get stripped or broken in a plastic version (so doesn’t feature).Other than that it works as intended, but I thought I was buying a second version of the original- not a cheaper worse version. (I almost thought it was a fake).Summary.Works. It’s lighter. But cheaper and not of the quality I used to associate with small rig.

Doesn’t work
This item powers my BMPCC 6k with a fully charged battery for about 20 minutes before the camera cuts out, despite the battery still being full. I’m assuming it doesn't delivery the correct voltage as it is supposed to. Avoid buying this product.

12V output is useless
Unless you can find an NP-F battery that provides 12V output the 12V outlet is a gimmick. I haven't been able to find 12V F970s only 7.4V ones so even if I plug my cable in the 12V I can drain 7.4V, the rest will come from the camera's battery. Which if you're planning to use this for your BM camera (which I do) is important cause you have to have a battery inside the camera, as well. Obviously, it is still useful, extends the operating time but just be aware and don't be surprised if your camera dies on you using this, it is probably cause the inner battery already died earlier.
