Perfect for my band banner!
Good and bad reviews on here but I took the risk and glad I did! Arrived within 3 day or ordering good packaging nice carry bag too. I'm using it to hang my band banner on. It's a little wobbly but with this design most of them will wobble, but I don't intend on swinging on it. its perfect for what I need. Ready to set my stage! Thanks again.

Great for the price
This did a good job for me holding up a cotton green screen for a short 1 month project. I must have put up and torn down the screen about 10 or 15 times during that period so I got quite quick at doing it. It is straightforward to put up and survived being knocked over.It is nowhere near professional grade, but for short term and occasional use on a tight budget I couldn’t ask for anything more. Very good value for money in my opinion.

A decent bit of kit.
Another bit of Phot-R kit that I don't see myself replacing for a good few year to come. It looks very well made with a couple of stand that are certainly up to the job. A lot of the negative comments discuss how "lightweight" the stand it, a stand like this for only £30 isn’t made for heavy weight backdrops, you need to spend 10 times as much if that’s what you want and buy 2 C stands complete with an extra long boom arm. But owning 4 C stands they are far from easy to transport or work with in a confined office or meeting room where you would probably be expected to do corporate headshots. This stand is made either for linen backgrounds or seemless paper where the cardboard inner tube helps with the support. You need decent sandbags to keep it stable, as you should have with all floor based backdrop stands, any lack of stability is purely whoever puts it up fault not knowing what they are doing. I tend to use 4 4kg bags and of course have the legs with one under the crossbar. I never put any studio equipment up to full length and always leave something in the tube so you’re not putting a strain anywhere, I usually raise mine to about 2.5 meters which is over 8 feet. I’ve had mine for going on for nearly 2 years, usually with a 3 meter x 6 meter mid grey linen backdrop as this is the most versatile. Used correctly this is a large sturdy backdrop and very hard wearing IF used correctly and as it was intended to be used.

Very good!!
Very good!!! Easy and fast to put up, which is great and important when time is of the essence. We were shooting in the city centre and Kinsman 2 were going to be shooting at the same place, we had very little time to get the filming done, so getting the shot fast was important - This adjustable frame I put up single handily without any help within 5 minutes, could have been even faster if a friend helped. The frame itself is very sturdy and held the green screen up well. Excellent.

Does its job
Not the most sturdy backdrop support. I mainly use it to mount my camera to do top down shoots. Does it's job.

Absolutely Amazed
if im honest, i bought this as a 2nd backdrop roll holder as i needed to have 2 by sunday as part of my Uni course (film and tv production). being a photographer already, i had the first backdrop at home waiting to be used. after receiving this backdrop i am very impressed! packaging was amazing and the carry bag is so compact! the set is light weight and the poles are sturdy and lock in similar to how tent poles do! this set cost me around £25 and yet the other backdrop frame that I've had for a while cost me well over £80. I'm actually considering selling my other frame and buying a second one of this frame to use. extremely impressed! well done!

Cheaper than others - Quality could improve but not too bad
Thinking of buying a backdrop kit? That was my 1st idea but if you are clever and look into the prices of the kits and what you get for your money... you are better off buying each item individually. So I initially bought a kit "professional" it said...2 white umbrellas3 "quality" Muslin backdropsBackdrop StandAll "professional" quality for £149.99A great deal right?Well it turned out not to beThe backdrops lacked of quality, the stand was almost the same as this one I'm reviewing now.So just look around and you will not only save some £ you will have better quality items of your choice.I have ended up buying this stand for £25, 2 soft boxes for £60 (available without prime at £43), and quality 2 sided white and black vinyl backdrop for £60.I just wanted to share this as I have spent endless hours trying to find good quality items for my photography without spending a fortune on each item. KitsIn regards to this stand:PROS-Side tubes and feet are the same width as more expensive stands-Fixings on stand are the same quality than more expensive onesCONS-The top bar had movement so the bars would not end up been straight but rather "sunk" downwards in the middle. Now I must say I'm not sure if this was a defect on the stand I received or if they are all the same. The bar had movement because even though one goes inside the other, there was still a small mm gap between them. As the union was not a tight fitting... the movement was caused. The con on this item has a simple way round it. At least for me.OK so if you use Muslin backdrops and put them directly on the stand with clamps then you will find that this top bar movement is going to make your backdrop have a funny drop / hence creases on the Muslin. But if you use Vinyl backdrops rolled in their own bar... then you simply use the stand bar as a support as it goes inside the backdrops own bar.So that 1mm movement makes no difference.Would I buy this item again?Yes. As an overall price - Quality - use... this stand does the job it's intended for.Not always more expensive products are better. The sellers just simply have more profit.

Good value.
Good value. The equivalent Bowens set retails at £149 and is not much stronger as far as I can tell. Simple to set up and perfectly adequate for occasional use. Sandbags and guy lines probably necessary if it is fully extended, but this would be true of any frame of this kind. 2 horizontal bars nicely accommodate a 135cm roll. Pity the spring loaded buttons are at 90 degrees to vertical so the the roll core lays on the upper one, but not a real issue.
