Didn't expect it to work - but it did! Brilliantly!
This product has proven itself. When we first received it, I was a bit sceptical about whether it would work as it feels flimsy and didn't give the impression of a powerful tool. However, we had a blocked bath drain which meant the water was draining really, really slowly so I thought I'd give it a try. After about four pumps, the bath drain was fixed. I couldn't believe it. It worked instantly and more effectively than those chemical drain cleaners that we had tried so many times before (no need to use overnight and all that rubbish). I would highly recommend this plunger. It has earned it's value in one use and is still around when we need it (as opposed to one-use chemicals). One further comment - one advantage of the chemical cleaners is that they can eat through hair (which is something that maybe the waste pipe unblocker might struggle with). But we use a metal drain cover which means that any hair that falls never goes into the drainN.

It Works.
This is our second one of these, they do the job they were bought for - a chemical free way of unblocking the bathroom plug holes. With frequent use they can lose their seal a bit and become less powerful (and at first they ARE powerful). They are quite easy to use, although it takes a bit of strength to use effectively and keeping the seal between the unit and plug is important. For the price they are fine, I'd consider them a replaceable item, I guess others wouldn't be as well used as ours! (Our first one unblocked a toilet late in it's life and is now reserved solely for this use). Next time we need one I'm going to try the over-sized plungers (which I think may have a longer life span!?)

3rd - Why do I do this to myself 2nd - No suction. 1st - Cheap, worked well, fell apart. And cheap.
*** Review for 1st one *** gave it 4 starsFor the money it's been good. Has worked for two and a half years clearing the shower drain. The white cap near the red handle did come unstuck after about a year, so I have to hold it to the tube as I use it.When the cap came off the rusty nail (they've all got one), that goes through the internal rubber seal and the handle, sliced my finger nicely. Hey ho.In the last few weeks the seal inside the unit was not working well, the rubber has probably dried up too much. And then today the rusty nail gave up the ghost.I'll probably get another one as it's the price of a bottle of chemicals and lasts a lot longer.*** Bought a 2nd one *** NOV 2015, this review added JULY 2016 changed to 1 starsWorked for a while but the rubber inside seems too small for the tube and it struggles to get any suction. A number of other people seem to be experiencing this lately.

ZOMG!
I never thought I'd be writing a review about a sink unblocker. As many others have stated, this device is absolutely amazing. You do need a strong stomach, as well as strong forerms, in order to get the most of this 'bicycle pump'. A quick digest (maybe not the right word) of how best to use this unblocker, coupled with other items:A: CHEMICAL ROMANCE1. Use a chemical unblocker - most of them say it's best to leave it in the sink overnight.2. Run hot water down the sink (if need be, run the water into a tub first, as you don't want cold water to go down the plug hole just yet).3. Once you're sure the chemical has been washed away, it's time to use this pump.B. BAD ROMANCE1. Pull the handle out.2. Push the pump towards the plug hole, making sure the pump's rubber rim completely covers the plug hole.3. Using the strength of Samson, push the handle in - try to force it, but not at the expense of injuring your arm.4. Gasp at the smell of putridness as it's cleansed from the sink (or bathtub).C. TRUE ROMANCE1. Run hot water down the sink (use boiled water if need be) to help dissolve any residue or grime.2. Spray some Zoflora in the air to aid the return of friends and family. This is the best five quid I've ever spent. I saved my landlady call out fees for the plumber... I just hope she sees fit not to raise the rent next year!

It failed me!
Unfortunately this didn't work for me like it did so many others! I have a nasty blockage in my bathtub drain, it's been accumalating ever since I moved in and I am certain I'm not actively contributing to it. At the height of the slow drain, it would empty about 2 minutes after stepping out from a shower. One day the drain just got completely blocked and even after 12 hours it would not empty.I took the advice of others and sealed off the overflow with some industrial spec gaffa tape, and started pumping away, with variations on how to use the tool. Pull up when positioned on plug hole, filled it air and then placed on plug hole, filled with standing water and then placed on plug hole, etc. none of these worked and after a good amount of pumping I found that the sealant on the product (between the white and blue plastic) started giving way and expelling air/water!My blockage is so intense it appears to have broken the blaster. It certainly made an admirable attempt, but it looks like I'm going to alert my landlady! I'm still giving it 3 stars because it clearly works for many people and appears to be great value for money in 99% of instances.
