Instant Re-Useable Heat Pack Shoulder Warmer (Various Colours)

Just received the click heat pad needed for part of my physio treatment for my shoulder. Worked really well straight out of the box. Stayed hot/ warm fot about 40 mins. I couldn't fing a large pan to do the required boiling so put it in the electric steamer for 15 mins. Perfect! Then I used it (on top of my jumper as it was boiling hot) until it cooled. Now it's ready to go again! So you can get a double use from it. And the steamer is really quick and easy. No need to mess with cloths as it doesn't come into direct contact with any really hot surface. Now buying one for my Dad.

I bought this to help with lower back pain for which my back muscles get very tight sometimes. It does the job and fits round my lower back and the bottom of my spike quite well. It is an amazing piece of technology as well. Just showing the kids the chemical reaction is worth it! The heat lasts quite a while. Having to boil it to dissolve the crystals so you can use it again is a bit of a pain though. Just one not-quite-dissolved crystal means doing it again if you have not noticed. I guess that is the technology though. Maybe one day there will a microwavable one.

This is an excellent product for instant soothing of sore areas - it is easy to use and completely safe. You just click a button and it starts to heat up to a fixed temperature and stays at that temperature for some time. As it heats the liquid contents of the pack turn opaque. When it is fully opaque it has reached maximum. To get it back to its original form so you can reuse it you just put it in a pan of boiling water (with a small cotton cloth like a napkin underneath so it is not touching the hot pan itself). Let the water boil for several minutes until the contents of the pack are fully clear, then remove and allow to cool. It's then ready to use again.AMAZING!

It was too heavy, too hot to start with, and most uncomfortable. The picture shows around the neck but does not go around the neck. Also, the instructions for after use were so involved and time-consuming, having to put the used item in a pan of hot water with cloth inside to break all crystals up, checking for all crystals to be broken etc.,So involved. I have now chucked this in the dustbin, waste of money. No relief whatsoever. I will now purchase the usual soft wheat-filled, microwavable version which IS comfortable, works, and is much less hassle.

This arrived yesterday and activated like magic, producing a good degree of heat and instant relief for my bad shoulder - agree with all the positives in the preceding review. I did not receive the bag for using on other areas of the body though.Now the downside - the boiling up bit. Following the instructions I boiled the pad until no crystals appeared to remain. However as it cooled crystals reformed and I tried twice more to boil them away but in the end gave up and left it, rock hard. This morning I found the biggest pot I had and boiled for much longer - about 30 mins! The pad is now cooling and so far no crystals have reappeared - I am holding my breath!!I am not sure they can describe this as portable and for use anywhere - yes for one time use but you would have to have access to a big pot, cloth and hob - unlikely away from home! The blurb says you don't need a microwave etc to prepare it but is misleading about the ease of re-use.So it would be five stars for the therapeutic effect but one star for the process - I give it a three!

This is helpful for dealing with soft tissue problems. It also functions well as a hot water bottle.

I use these within treatments for my clients in clinical practice.However, I will say that when the unit arrives the metal disc can be hard to click, however, I have discovered that if you boil it a few times it does get easier.Stays hot for about an hour or so.Remember to put a tea towel in a saucepan when you boil it down to liquify otherwise it may stick to the saucepan.A Great Buy!

I got this for my mum who suffers from neck pains. It heats up very effectively and retains the heat for a few hours at least. The first time it heated up the gel inside became very solid and the pack was slightly unmanageable in that it was unmalleable. However, subsequent heat-ups led to a more liquid consistency which was just as hot. However, the problem is it is quite difficult to heat until all the crystals disappear. I each time heated it wrapped in a towel in a large pan of boiling water for 15 minutes until it looked completely clear, but when you press the metal disc it doesn't heat and solidify like it did the first time. It still heats up very well like I said, but just doesn't solidify as much and doesn't retain heat as effectively.
