Very pleased with this lens
After having to return the last three Nikon lenses due to inferior AF and cheapo plastic build quality, I decided to take a chance on the Sigma. I am extremely surprised by the solid build of the lens and the image quality is great. The only complaint I have is the lens is on the heavy side, but a small price to pay for a versatile piece of glass. I do recommend purchasing the dock as well, because it is more than likely that some calibration will be required. A decent lens overall though.

Great lens, well built and very sharp with good ...
Great lens, well built and very sharp with good contrast. Only downside is it is quite heavy, if you are handholding all day long you will have a sore arm by the end of the day.

Cheaper than Nikkor Nikon lenses
Pros:1. Not too heavy nor too big. In photo attached , as a comparision, the RIGHT hand side Nikon D780 has this lens attached. Left hand side is a smaller Nikon D5200 with a Sigma DX lens (thats also good but Ive noe upgraded to the new setup on the right. I can carry it around my neck for an hour or more without muc discomfort. Usually I keep it in my backpack and it doesn't feel heavy at all.2. Attached photos (minus the pic of the cameras with lenses attached) are all taken with this lens and a Nikon D780 and come straight out of the camera, unedited so you can be the judge of its abilities.3. Very happy with the lens. If I had the budget, I would havegone for the Nikkor but as I have used another Sigma before (in photos with cameras) I know how great the lenses are. Designed in Japan , read the reviews and bought it. Would recommend.4. Autofocus works great with Nikon d780 . Make sure you buy the correct Sigma lens for your camera model as Sigma make this lens for both Nikon and Canon mounts I think.CONS:1. Price . but I think all full frame lenses are pricey. For quality, Sigma is top marks in my view.2. I would have preferred a 24mm- 200mm or more lens but didnt have the budget. I do a lot of photogography outside , street photography, trhat extra zoom would have helped me. But I will be maximising my purchase by using it extensively. Its the only lens I have attached do my Nikon D780

Overall very good
Nice lens, overall an excellent performance for the price. I didn’t need to perform any autofocus fine tuning on my D810- pictures are very sharp straight from the box. The only issue I have is zoom creeping. The lens barrel always extends to full length when the camera is held with a neck/shoulder strap. A zoom lock function would have been a nice add.

Sigma do not make this for Sony E mount, that has not stopped Amazon promoting it as an E mount

Sigma 24 - 105 mm F4 DG HSM Lens
Camera’s come ang go; glass however is another story. Those that know, invest in glass over camera technology. Say what you like about Sigma’s Art range of lenses; bottom line, they (Sigma) produce some fantastic glass. The Art range continues to grow and continues to go from strength to strength. The Sigma 24-105 mm F4 DG HSM Lens is no exception. I have it mirrored to both Full Frame and APS-C cameras. Obviously, I see better results from the Full Frame camera but the APS-C (crop sensor) cameras do not disappoint. To get the VERY best from the lens, I strongly urge you to investigate the Reikan FoCal software. Once purchased, the camera and lens can be AF Fine Tuned with ease. Critical as Sigma’s lens’ do suffer from front and back focusing issues. My copy was tolerable but once corrected with FoCal, all of my focused images are now tack sharp.Believe everything you read about the 24-105; it really is that good! There are tens of reviews on the lens, most of which are credit-worthy. Those that are enthuse about the lens’ quality and ability to render a good image. The only downside, and it’s the ONLY downside, it’s big and it’s heavy. I live with this small issue because the quality of the images are right up there in my opinion.

Very good lens...
Excellent lens... read professional reviews and view MTF charts before buying and if it's yourfirst full frame camera and lens then read about full frame cameras too. They are not the 'Holy Grail' but theyare different from aps-c and so are the lenses in ways that require appropriate thought... you may disagree (disagreeing withpeople's opinions on photography seems to be fashionable) but this is only my professional opinion.I could write a review but it would take up too much room, suffice it to say that the lens is very well made, itzooms smoothly, focuses fast and has more reach than the competition (so far), it's the best around for the money andeven the 105 setting is usable but I never shoot with a zoom out to the stop at either end if I can avoid it.I use Sony a99 bodies and a77II bodies and although 'only' 24mp I reckon it's not stretching the lens' capabilities andowning Sony is the biggest consideration for choosing a lens, I have owned the Sony/CZ 24-70mm mkI and the Sony/CZ 16-35mm mkIbut will be buying the Tamron 15-30mm soon............deduce what you will but I buy equipment to do a job and itneeds to be cost effective, it matters not one jot what name is on the lens or body, in 50 years nobody has ever asked what I use.As I said, there are technical reviews out there that will give all the details needed

Sigma told me NOT an official UK import
Wonderful Lens, registered it with Sigma for the Warranty had had an email back stating the serial number was NOT an official UK import and therefore no warranty here in the UK.I have therefore returned it and will buy one from Wex or Park Cameras.

Fastest Delivery!
Love this lens, a bit heavy on my Nikon D750 but worth it! Crisp clear images and great range. My current portrait lens broke and I had a wedding coming up. I ordered this lens in high hopes it would get to me in time and was very pleasantly surprised when it showed up only a few days after ordering! Literally saves the day!
