It is for those who really care about the taste of rice. I also use a high-end Cuckoo rice cooker to serve more people. This is inconvenient in terms of maintaining warmth for hours etc, but when it boils down to the quality of rice cooked, it is amazing. It also blends well with a modern kitchen interior.

BE AWARE. You are buying at your own risk. This product is not sold by Balmuda in the US, meaning it is a parallel product. This also means that even if it's under 1-year warranty, Balmuda Japan will ONLY be able to help with the repair or exchange if you have problems with the rice cooker if you live in Japan. I have contacted Balmuda USA and Japan customer service, and neither can help with the repair( I live in the US, and my rice cooker got the error code E06). They should have noted the customer on the selling page about the risk; I found it the hard way.The rice cooker is great when it works though.

Have this rice cooker for a little bit more than 2 years. I don't even use it very often. The inner pot coating start peeling off. Trying to buy a replacement but nowhere to get one. I expecting a better quality or a better service for a such expensive rice cooker.
