I find the root touch-up kit very easy to use. The brush method is really the easiest I've encountered as well. The root touch-up kit covers grays well. I keep at least one back-up at home for when I need to tackle the roots. Easy and a money saver that can help delay visits to the salon. If you color your hair yourself, it's also a good way to keep from coloring your entire head of hair and damaging the hair each time; this is important to me as I'm trying to grow my hair longer. Recommended.

I typically use Perfect 10, same manufacturer. I thought, great!! I can just do my roots and like the Perfect 10, leave on for 10 minutes and be done. It look great after and for the next week but I swear it started washing away after that. I ended up needing another dye job 10 days after application. Since I purchased a 3 pack, I tried the others and this just doesn't work for me. Maybe in a pinch I'll use again but for my hair, it didn't last. I'm 41 and have been coloring my roots for about 10 years. While my roots, (white), are sometimes tough to color, Perfect 10 has always worked but I end up with extra. Time to get creative and measure smaller amounts since this didn't work for me.

I like being able to order it through Amazon, many times it is out of stock at the store. This way I have it on hand when I want to do the touch up of regrowth on my hair. It's really just a small amount of hair color- I do more than along my part, as my hair is not extremely thick, and I am able to get the regrowth covered with one box. I love it!

TL:DR: it's great, try it.Longer version: I'm mid 40s but starting graying in my late 20s (hereditary reasons) and starting having my roots touched up when I was barely out of grad school. My mom is actually a beautician (retired now) so she advised me on what to use to touch up my roots between professional salon appointments. She said "try Clariol" and I of course ignored her for years -sigh- but bought a 3 pack of this a few months ago when my travel schedule make it impossible to get to the salon or hit a walgreens. I'm probably just lucky but it matched my original hair color perfectly. I do leave on longer than it says because my gray is stubborn. Good product, and my salonist doesn't even seem to mind that I use it between appointments.

Great product for touching up roots, nice color. I am between a medium/dark brown shade. I have tried all brands available, some lift the color too, resulting in making my roots to be too light or reddish. Not this one, it does the trick, Blends nicely. So easy and hassle free to use, process time is only ten minutes! The Coverage is 100% and last for about 10-14 days. The best part is that it is "Easy" on my hair. I will buy more for sure!

Did not realize this was no eligible for return. Two of the three packages received were sealed but one was not sealed and could not return.

I've used this product for a long time and it has meant less trips to the hairdresser. It does exactly what it should do - it's easy to use and it totally blends with your own hair color. I always have a box on hand - just in case. I part my hair and when the gray starts to peek through, it's very evident. This buys me another 2 weeks before I have to go and get it professionally done.

I used two boxes to saturate my gray roots and left it on for 15 minutes with the same result I got last time: by the next day the gray roots were back. I won't buy this product from Clairol again.Clairol full color products don't work anymore, either. My sister and my friend have the same complaint. Next time I'll listen to them.
