Good aid
We have several different activity books for my daughter, which helps her to practice what she's learning at school.Advertised as age 7-9 and KS2 this translates into being suitable for children in year 3 and 4. My daughter has only just started year 3 but is generally ahead of some of her peers so we found this activity book just about right. The pages are bright and colourful which is good and helps to keep a child's interest, we have had other books that look less appealing because they're very basic black and white. Overall this is good value.

Vocabulary Activity Book
I chose this book to help my son improve his vocabulary, he's 7, currently in year 2. Having looked through it, I think it will be more beneficial to him once he starts year 3 in September. The book is quite a slim volume - 32 pages - 4 of those pages are answers, contents and a how to use this book page. It's well worth reading the How to Use this book page before you start as there are lots of useful tips on how to get the most out of the exercises.I like the variety of activities which include word searches, anagrams, filling in missing words, matching words, finding opposites. For me, it feels more like a book that will help reinforce knowledge rather than learning these things from the start. If your child is really struggling with their vocabulary and words this may be a little too advanced.Overall - Should be a useful book for the upcoming academic year.

A fun approach to learning
I've purchased a good number of Collins book in the past - I tutor my kids at home and many of their books have been a great aid. This particular book is perfect for my 8 year old daughter. She's currently going through a stage where I need to make learning fun otherwise she looses interest. This book contains KS2 vocabulary learning through various word games. It's set out in a fun way, rather than that of a typical workbook. The book itself is bright and colourful, with illustrations throughout, making it more appealing to reluctant learners. There's helpful tips for adults at the front of the book - this will help you to ensure your youngster gets the most out of using it. There's also a progress chart where youngsters can colour in the stars as they complete each page. It's an excellent book for youngsters - my daughter is happy to do the work and I'm happy that she's enjoying it (and not moaning) lol.

Vocabulary Ages 7-9
I love any type of home learning book that supports the national curriculum and enables me to support my little one at home in his learning journey. This one is aimed at 7-9 year olds and is aimed to be complete in conjunction with parental support. This guide takes you through step by step with colourful and engaging exercises and activities to develop and expand your child's vocabulary. It will motivate your little one to want to learn at home in short bursts. I like that this home learning support is relevant and supportive to both child and parent alike and would certainly recommend the series from what I have seen so far.

Easy but good for recapping
I got this book to support my daughters learning. She is currently coming to the end of year 3 and I wanted her to have a book where she could do some work independently. This was great as she found it easy as it was all stuff she had learnt in class. So I could leave her to do the exercises whilst I prepared dinner. Not too challenging but doesn’t always need to be. Just good to see where she has great knowledge and where she needs a little help. Good books.
