Surprisingly good for the money
The old named manufactures of tape cassettes stopped making them years ago and new old stock is going for premium prices these days. I found these tapes surprisingly good for the money and so long as your expectations are not too high. The caveat for that is that you need to have a decent quality cassette deck and those again sadly haven't really been made for years. When recording a music CD to my Yamaha tape deck I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. The cassette shell is well made and the only thing I don't like was the cassette case and that there is no card inside for writing the tapes contents, but that is a minor niggle. The case itself is a softer plastic than they used to be. Old cases where quite brittle and prone to cracking if dropped or miss handled. They are marketed for spoken word and for that they are very good and clear, you would not need a high end recorder for that use.If you are an audiophile or a real tapehead you wont be going anywhere near these and I am unsure how the will stand up to repeated playings/recordings, but I was really just so surprised that music came out so well on them.

Typical Type I
The media could not be loaded. The range of new tapes available nowadays is quite narrow, so I'm happy to report that these ones function perfectly fine for everyday recordings. Something to keep in mind is the cases they come in aren't the typical hinged type.

Good for recording spoken word.
These budget 60 Min Blank Cassette Tapes are useful for recording short interviews. I do not consider the recording tape high enough quality for recording important music. Unusually the cases are made of polythene. They are less brittle than regular clear plastic cassette cases. However, they look less elegant and are less clear to look through. Reasonable value for money.

It is good if used for the right thing
The first thing to say is that these are iron oxide tapes, so this places the sound quality in a specific bracket. If you are planning to use them for high quality recording, maybe using Dolby noise reduction and so on, these may not be the best option. If you are using multitrack recorders (like Tascam and so on) these would not be suitable, but this applies to any iron oxide tape. For those applications you need chrome tape.If you are recording notes or some speech that you will transcribe or digitise, this will work.As I don't know much about the manufacturing standards maybe I would not use them for an archival copy of something you need to preserve in the long term.As mentioned by other reviewers, the case is not the classic one, and J cards will not fit. This, although an usunual choice is not - per se - and indication of quality; I have bought rather expensive chrome tapes with cases of similar material, although with a different design (where you could not use J cards either).

They are ok
A lot of hiss found that I could only record on one side comes out warblers on side b. If you like listening through headphones not very good not too bad through speakers.

Surprisingly Good
I ordered these, hopeful, but not expecting too much. Modern tapes are not what they used to be. When they arrived, they came in a flat pack of 3, friendly for the letter box. The tapes are in a clear plastic box, made out of a different plastic than the old style boxes, with no J-card. The labels are pre-attached, and the cassette is very rattly. After a long leader, the tape is smooth and brown. There are no streaks or creases.I popped one in to my Tascam tape recorder, and connected some heavy metal music and hit record. I set the peaks initially to 0dB, and it recorded clean. There was no distortion, and the usual amount of hiss for a cassette tape. Then I pushed it up to +6dB, it sounded nice and saturated with only a touch of harshness. You can push 4dB into these tapes for a good sound. It recorded the highs as well as a ferric tape can,, and there were no drop outs.Of course, the caveat is that you will need a good quality tape recorder to get the best sound out of these tapes. If you record on most cheap modern tape recorders, you will not get as good as sound as an older deck from the 90's or 00's.For £2 a tape, these are a bargain and well worth the money.
