Garmin Universal Dash Cam Suction Cup Mount

Purchased a Garmin suction cup holder for my Garmin Dashcam. I purchased a new 2024 IS500 and am using my Garmin Dashcam that works well in vehicle. I purchsed dashcam suction cup for my model. My vehicle is garage parked so it's not outside sitting in sun which would degrade suction cup. I noticed the suction cup was not adhering to my windshield after 5 days - kept falling off. Frustrated, I again prepped windshield for it to continue to fall off week after week! I decided to contact Garmin directly as I was past my return window with Amazon. Garmin gave me excellent customer service (Thanks Noal) for providing a no hassle replacement which was received 1/6/25. Will continue to purchase Garmin products with the great CS provided - can't get any better than this!Thanks GARMIN!

This item is a must have if you own a Garmin Dash camera. I bought this for my Dash Cam Mini 2 and it works perfect. The suction power if very strong, easy to install and remove whenever you need to. I wish they would have just included this item with the dash camera but none the less it works great.

Very well made! The suction cup is very sticky! This makes it so much easier to swap from my truck at work to my personal car.

The suction forms a nice, strong attachment to glass. Just make sure the glass is clean and not greasy from condensation cycles. In my car, it initially fell off after a few minutes. I cleaned the glass and the suction cup with Windex. The suction cup now sticks even before I move the locking lever. Good stuff; I hope it lasts.

We bought a new car and the stock mount for our garmin dash cam was stuck on the previous car. Figured this would work well as it seemed sturdy on the windshield and dash cam snapped firmly into place on it. Unfortunately in either high heat/sun or low cold the mount just falls off and I find my dash cam and the mount on the dash more than infrequently. Made sure to clean glass and mount very well but still falls off. I guess your mileage may vary.

I recently purchased the Garmin Universal Dash Cam with high hopes, but unfortunately, it has proven to be a major disappointment. While the camera quality and features seemed promising, the product's reliability in hot weather is abysmal.Living in a warm climate, I expected the dash cam to withstand normal interior car temperatures. However, every time the interior of my car heats up, the dash cam detaches from the windshield and falls. This is not only frustrating but also potentially dangerous, as it could obstruct the driver or cause damage to the device.I have tried reattaching the dash cam multiple times using the provided adhesive and even purchased additional adhesive pads, but nothing seems to work. The dash cam simply cannot handle the heat, rendering it practically useless during the summer months or in warmer regions.For a product that is supposed to provide security and peace of mind, the Garmin Universal Dash Cam has done the opposite. I cannot rely on it to stay in place, let alone capture crucial footage in the event of an incident.I would not recommend this dash cam to anyone living in a warm climate or anyone who expects a reliable product. Garmin needs to address this design flaw urgently. Until then, save your money and invest in a more dependable dash cam.
