Worthy piece of equipment
Positives definitely out weigh the negatives. I travel for work 85% of the time and of course do most everything with a microwave in a hotel room. Very difficult to eat healthy when limited to that. I bought this around 7 or 8 months ago and have used it primarily to boil water for coffee and things like oats and broths. It has done very well for that. I bought the coffee French press add on as well. Makes great brew. Up until this week I checked into my room and to my surprise no microwave. This is a newer chain, not naming names this is not a hotel review. I was looking at the groceries i purchased wondering wtf am I going to do now. I got this out and prepared my beef stew in it, normally I cook this meal in a Pyrex in the nuke, not so awesome but it’s worked for a long long time. This thing cooked that same meal like literally jaw dropping well. I can not believe it. Years of putting up with this degrading practice, knowing I was doing harm to myself eating nuked food day in day out. Excellent excellent! Never go back again. The negatives of this cooker are very minimal but I’ll put it out there. The cord is way too long. I bought a 2 foot television cord, same end as the other one. The lid is not functional, it falls off easily. It leaks if you try to pour from it. The lid needs to come off of the coffee French press without taking the press apart. I drilled the hole out to a little over 1 inch, step drill bit, works much better. The French press rod is way too long, I cut mine in half and reattached knob. Basically that’s it and I think I will buy another one.

Rapid boiling, sturdy handled sleeve, awesome for fire-less cooking
I love how fast water boils, i love that it can pack up quickly. I use mine mainly as a coffee kettle , my teen loves it for ramen, and as a hot pot, as he puts it. The first three uses the lid warped, I emailed the company, they sent me out a lid but said it was lost in shipping, I need the lid, so the company made it right, said I bought an older version and sent me an upgrade, best customer service and an awesome product! I have brought it to work with me to heat up soup, make popcorn and to heat up chili. I will be purchasing another for my adult son. Durability is great, easy clean, although you can’t submerge in water the cup portion is wide so I can get my hand and a sponge in there. Use filtered water to cook, I use spring water, I don’t use tap water because it leaves what looks like hard water stains. But it does scrub out just takes a bit of work. This is seriously one of the best products I have purchased, I usually carry a small 720 watt battery pack for charging my younger child speech device, headphones and other accessories he requires so if I take them all to the park I pack this as well, if they want hot chocolate while out in the cold, bingo, makes them happy. This kettle pot blows the plug in car cup out of the water! Different sleeve designs so you can choose if buying from the company website, the sleeve makes it tolerable to hold but be careful while pouring. That lid needs to snap on tight. This is definitely something I will be taking with me camping, the boil time is way faster than the stove for boiling water to make coffee (I use a coffee press) and this is definitely something that is durable as long as it’s kept free of water from the buttons, electric components. The stirring rod it comes with is definitely durable , I keep it at the bottom of my to go bag so it doesn’t get lost, it’s definitely needed for stirring, to me it’s better than trying to use a camping spoon, you won’t scratch the kettle pot, no worries about that. Overall definitely a product I would recommend to other’s, this company stands by their product and customer service support is amazing! I will definitely buy again.

Useful
I like this device, for sure. It brings liquid up to 175F in less than a minute. I used cold milk. I used a temperature gauge to make sure it was at the temperature I desired and so I didn’t scald the milk. It did scald. But just a little at 170F. I mistakenly thought that the lower “drink” mode meant lower temperature. It doesn’t. It just means it shuts off automatically once it reaches boiling point. So, I’m glad I used my trusty thermo works gauge. Here’s what I recommend. If you want to heat liquid besides water, use a temp gauge and shut off unit once it reaches your desired temp. If cooking, wait until water or broth boils, then add seasonings, etc. . If popcorn, be sure to use an oil that doesn’t smoke, like refined canola, coconut or avocado. If you use olive oil, it will burn, smoke and leave an oxidized mess in your pot that will be challenging to remove. A device like this one with added programmable temperature and digital monitor would be a game changer. There are tea kettles like that. So it is a thing. No more waiting for water to cool down before pouring a proper green tea at 140F. Or babysitting the pot. All that said, I will continue to use this product along with my temperature gauge. It’s open top makes for easy clean-up, I like the cozy over the stainless steel pot portion. It’s probably a good thing it doesn’t detach from base for added stability. Make sure to use on a stationary and stable table or surface. The added popcorn stir is a nice addition. I’m excited to use it while on the road.

not just for camping
I have found so many uses. Originally purchased for my overlanding rig, this was my go to for a quick rest stop lunch, or a quick popcorn snack. I take this and the Nomad in my popup RV for easy flameless indoor cooking. Now this unit spends winter in my office keeping the hot drinks coming. Probably great for a dorm or some hotel cooking.
