I believe the core is Thestral hair but I can't be certain. I've been able to cast several successful spells with it. I'm sure it'll serve me well for my tenure at Hogwarts but only time will tell. It's well balanced and has a satisfying weight. I dropped in on the floor and accidently turned my dog into a cat, but I can't blame the wand for that.

Excellent wand to go with a Professor Snape Costume. The wand is well made and of good quality. I highly recommend it. It comes with a keychain as well as little paper of instructions on how to wave the wand for each HP spell. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

This was so much better than I expected for the price! It's very heavy and looks great. The small keychain was bent fairly easily, but the wand won't bend with regular use.

I think it's very nice, good quality paint is nice it's amazing i love it so pretty the size is good (14 inches)and very simalure to the real harry potter wands and i think it's good matirial and $17 i mean others are like 30 to 40 dollars and it's only thing that's missing is real magic but the keychain is super nice and spell's you can make just 5 stars hands down! Love it so much
