Works well but hard to read
Great for scrolling a line around a corner, but the markings are difficult to read. The 1/8" marks are all the same length meaning you have to count lines to measure. This is made worse by the thickness of the tool, which means the lines are not flush with the surface. Still, very useful for scrolling.

It’s a well made item but for me I wish it was a 6” long though.
Construction finish trim work.

Nice shortcut marking tool
Handy little tool to mark both sides of a plank and that is my primary use for it. Since it is metric and I work with imperial, do not use it much for measuring. If there was a mechanism like a twist knob to quickly separate and join the two pieces, probably would have more use for it. A small screw that can be easily lost deters me from using it to its full potential.

What? You got something against 1/16"?
This is a delight when it comes to doing layout, or designing. The sliding stop is accurate in it's distance, except for the pencil, that's about 9/16" off of the inch marks on it, they could have even reversed one of the edge scales to mesh with this feature. The closest that I see to doing this part is a small hole that aligns with the 12 inch mark. Now to make this a bit confusing to some, this is a ruler, not a rule, the zero tick is inset a tad, so you have to place your pencil in this little niche, and I did check the accuracy of it, and it comes out as pretty darn accurate. Another that I have is inaccurate to approx. 1/32" when using the tick, so I have to use the end of it (this is a rule) to be accurate.Anyway, enough confusion. This item does great at layout, the sliding head offers 90, 45, and 60 deg bearings, and accurate measurements. It also offers 3 accurate and stable methods of offsetting a line from the edge (the beginning tick, and the one at 12"). The third would have to be the pencil holder, this can be used to align with point plotting, or just by doing the math on the scale. It's reasonably thick, and it feels very sturdy, I believe it's rolled aluminum, or aluminium. The markings are clear, and as I've said, accurate. It came with nothing that explains the features, so it was try it and see what explodes. All in all this is a very nice piece of kit, It meets all the needs put to it, it has a large number of features, and that bright blue is eye-catching.But why aren't there any 1/16" marks?Would I buy this again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

Nice piece with one important problem
The base is at two different heights. If you are using this to mark two sides of a square tube then you lines will be 1/16'' off. Kinda ruins the purpose if you ask me.
