Awesome rum infusion kit for beginners!
This rum infusion kit has everything you need except the rum! It is presented well and all the ingredient options are clearly labeled and look very sophisticated. The directions were clear, and this was a fun activity that yielded an interesting and tasty rum several weeks later! This would make a wonderful gift (along with a bottle of rum) for a really hard to shop for young(ish) adult.

Great for the novice
I need to start with a bit of a disclaimer as I am in the industry and am probably much more versed in mixology techniques than most shoppers will be for something like this. That being said, I do think this is a somewhat fun, easy to use infusion kit for novices and DIY home bartenders that are just beginning. However, for anyone with experience, this won't be anything innovative or easier or better. The benefit of this kit is that it puts everything you need (except the tequila), right there for you and it couldn't be easier. It tastes okay, but you are using dried components, which usually don't taste as good as fresh. (Be aware that fresh ingredients have water content so they do dilute and lower proof a bit, which makes it smoother tasting, but weaker.) With the relatively recent shift in affordability of immersion circulators, sous vide alcohol infusions are so much easier, faster, and flavorful. BUT, for the price and for the simplicity, this is still a great kit as long as it's for the right audience.
