great game
I prefer the 5e version, really a 5e lite version with theater of the mind combat with zone combat, but I've heard great things about the TOR version

Beautiful book in an epic and haunting setting.
Things you should know:This is a series of six adventures that can be put together to make a campaign for The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying, using the rules of D&D 5e. You'll need the LOTRR Core Rulebook to put together characters and learn how to play this game. This is different from The One Ring or Adventures in Middle Earth 5e. (Is it convertible? I don't really know... I guess anything's convertible with enough work, but there you go.)1 - This is a pretty book. The cover art is cool and the interior full-page spread art for each chapter is amazing and evocative... Within each chapter there are character sketches that are a little more cartoonish (which I don't love but don't hate), but the maps look amazing... They are made for general navigation to give an overview of an area, not for overhead tactical combat. But they also give you such a feel of dread underground tombs and abandoned towers... They capture the LOTR epic feel marvelously.2 - The book isn't huge, but these six adventures look they would take a lot more than six weeks to complete... Depending on your time spent playing and pace. But there's only one location map per chapter, suggesting that there's a lot of activity and limited combat... Which would fit well with the LotR vibe, I think.3 - As always with beautiful TTRPG books, the game master gets to enjoy it, but how do you share that with the players? You may be looking to buy this digitally online as well as in print.I haven't had a chance to thoroughly read this through page by page, but I love what I see. I expect this to make a nice, neat campaign for 12 - 24 weeks.I had not previously been interested in actually playing LotR as it's a low-magic world compared to D&D... But after spending time with this book, it's really sparked an interest in diving in to a more gritty, grounded experience.

Beautiful book
This is a very nice book with quality pages and printing. One of my daughters has gotten into D&D and some DMing, and I think this will be a great, family friendly addition to her kit!

Great RPG Book
I don't play the LotR RPG, nor do I play a lot of RPGs anymore, but I do love the lore presented by several RPGs (Alien, LotR, The Expanse, Firefly, and so on), and I love reading the books. This was my first in the LotR series and the book is great. The quality is good, the art is nice and thematic, and so far it's a great read that makes me want to learn more about this world. The price is okay for the book and seems to be pretty on par for RPG hardcover sourcebooks these days, too. If you play the LotR RPG, you'll find this easy to use as well as the parts are well-referenced and there looks like there's quite a few adventure ideas here.

A Great Expansion Adventure That Can Be Played With D&D Rules
The quality of this book makes it a great value for the money. It is a comprehensive dive into the Lord of The Rings Roleplaying Game which is played using Dungeons & Dragons 5e Rules, which means you can either play it as an expansion to your existing Lord of The Rings Campaign, as a stand along Lord of The Rings adventure or even blend it in as part of a D&D campaign. The layout is such that it is easy for any Dungeon Master to pick it up do a quick read of the adventure chapter, and start the game. I really like how it is broken out into chapters with milestone leveling so that you don't have to spend a lot of time figuring out XP. The adventure has a nice balance between role play and combat, but leans slightly more towards role play, which is personally my favorite part of and TTRPG. There is also some very nice sepia artwork through out the book to give it a true Middle Earth feel. Best of all it is less expensive then most of the WotC books, making it an inexpensive alternative.

Interesting book
I've only started dipping a toe into this system so I don't know a lot about it.I was surprised how many NPCs are in the book, a fairly large chapter is filled with them. The general structure of the book seems standard, the description of it does a good job reflecting what's inside. The book itself is sturdy, with decent care it'll hold up well. Though the one negative: No "new book" smell.

Beautiful Artwork and lots of lore
This adventure manual is really nice even if you aren't going to use the actual adventures within it. It's worth noting that this is not a stand-alone gaming experience and requires the core rulebook to be able to play. That being said, the artwork is beautiful and the book is worth a readthrough even if you aren't intending to play the actual adventures. There is a lot of content here that could be easily repurposed into any campaign.

Nice book
First off, to clarify, this book IS for fifth edition with all benefits and drawbacks that entails. Physically, it is a fine book. The paper is nice and the artwork is beautiful. There are six chapters, each with a session or two of material. If you want, they could easily be strung together to make a campaign. I'm not the greatest fan of Tolkien's work but this book brings together some fun ideas to form an interesting collection in his world.
