Maui JimHookipa XLarge Oval Sunglasses

I have owned this version of Mau Jim Hookipa for about 7 yrs now. Before that i had/have the brown frame, same lens. I recently ordered, ( to try out) 3 pairs of Oakleys, and 1 pair of Mau Jim Hookipa, this time i got XL, reason being, i'd like more coverage for cycling. The Oakley lenses, were all the same, the bronze. They are awesome also, but t my Hookipas were less dark, and what i have been used to for so long. The Oakleys, as stated are more for brighter conditions, beautiful lense by the way. Just when i ride from sun to shade, cause im used to MAui Jims, the oakleys were a bit too dark for me. Coverage was diff. on all 3 Oakleys The Spaera had the best coverage, but still, My Hookopas, with the new XL size are PERFECT, visually, (looking thru) and it gives me the exact xtra coverage i was looking for. I aske dMaui Jim to make Shield type glasses for cycling. 5 STAR!

Not cheap but look great and you can't beat the quality of the coatings. A very good choice for folks recovering from laser eye surgery that need good UV protection. You will need a deep case for them. The XLarge is not available in prescription lenses like the standard Hookipa. The standard does not wrap around quite as much but has the same look.My wife loves these and has worn these for years replacing in kind as necessary.

I love Maui Jim but what was sent to me was not even close to what I ordered. When you spend this kind of money ship the right product

No light gets in. Excellent for driving. Had cataract surgery and these blue lens are great. Not to mention they look good.

I've worn glasses for over 55 years. Cataract surgery plus lasiks - no more glasses. To protect the eyes, these look good and are very comfortable to wear.
