Great new travel essential
After reading many warnings that hotel water kettles are rarely if ever cleaned and people have been known to try to clean their dirty underwear in them 🥵I decided to search for a safer hot water option. There have also been many very early flights for which I get to the airport and no stores are open yet for my essential coffee. Now enter this travel electric kettle! It is adorable - I really like the chic design with the rose gold stripe, and it’s small enough to fit easily in a backpack or carryon without taking more space than a shoe. The most important thing is that it works really well. The power at the airport is a little weak so it took a bit longer to get to the right hot temperature (there are multiple high temps you can choose from) but it was still only minutes. Then I used my Costa Rican pour over portable coffee maker to make a delicious cup of coffee at 4:50 am at my gate. I made the whole area smell amazing! :) yes I was sitting on the floor with a couple baggies of things like the tiny bags of coffee and disposable cups from previous hotel trips, but everyone was eventually jealous.I didn’t realize you’re not supposed to drink from the kettle itself, so it’s NOT a hot water bottle or something you can use to make a cup of tea without having another cup to pour into (at least they don’t recommend using it for anything other than plain water). But it is fast, efficient, adorable, and just the right size for a very large cup of coffee or maybe two cups of tea. It cools down quickly too so you can touch it after waiting the recommended minute and not get scalded, yet the inside water is beautifully hot. Then you just detach the cute little cord, wrap it up and put it back in the little baggie or straight in the bag and you’re on your way.The only thing I wasn’t thrilled about is the verbiage on the top of the lid - I thought it would be a sticker you can take off but the words of warning about “hot liquid and don’t touch yet, steam blah blah” are there forever, kind of taking away from the aesthetics. And I guess I was thinking I could put a tea bag in it once the water was hot, but you so kind of need another cup to make it work. Unless they just meant that you shouldn’t boil or use it to heat up any liquids other than water? I just don’t want to risk ruining it so for now I just use it as a kettle and pour out the water when done. Let me know if you figure out differently!Overall highly recommend for frequent travelers or those with limited counter space.

Great for cup o noodles also!
Bought this on a whim since hotels have gone away from providing coffee machines(most). Did not use it for coffee but for cup o noodles. Directions are simple, keep pressing power button to desired temp and wait. There might be faster units but I was able to hold the outside and pour into the container. It comes with the power plug and a handy carry bag. Will bring on future road trips and hopefully it lasts.

A great hot cup , buy one and try it for your self.
I bought this to take on vacation for my tea and it was the best thing I could ever take for my tea. Works very well and keep my tea hot , tea was easily hot . Built quality is great, I would recommend it and buy again for a gift for a family member or friend.

LOVE IT!!
I think is a beautiful and smart idea to make it so compact. Wish it came in Black and in Etoupe. This little gadget is perfect for office use. You can make your own coffee or tea right on your desk!!! It heats up super fast and it's done in less than 5 minutes. There's no noise other than the noise of boiling water, and even the boiling noise stops in less than a minute.Super easy to clean. After your coffee is done you can run it to a boil again (212F) just to clean it out. It's almost self-cleaning.According to Alexa, Keurig heats the coffee at around 192° for me, it's just not an ideal heat for brewing a really good cup of coffee. This little mighty unit heats up the coffee at 205°!!! Perfect heat to extract all the coffee off the beans. This is probably why the coffee in some other machines don't taste as strong but watery. The water must be hot enough to extract all the coffee from the beans without being too hot where it could compromise the taste. The water for brewing coffee should be heated anywhere from 195° - 205° f.LET'S TALK TEA!In the picture you can see how the tea comes out right after this little unit is done boiling at 12:13 PM.I felt like it didn't extract all that it should from the Hawthorne leaves.I mean, 2 minutes is not enough time to get a good cup of tea. Now, if you leave it sitting for about 3 hours (3:32PM), you can see how darker the tea gets when it sits and simmers. At around 3:33 p.m. I decided experiment and boil the tea again at 212F to see if I can get it a bit darker but as you can see at 4:35 PM there was hardly any difference in color.I also noticed when you brew tea without the bag it does leak some through. Quite a bit but not enough to throw away the tea. I would highly suggest brewing in tea bags only.I like my tea strong, so I brew two bags and fill up with water up to the max line. If you go above the max line the water will spill when it bubbles and you wouldn't want that if you're brewing on top of your desk in your office.Fill up up right below the max line and it's easy peasy. Makes about anywhere between 13 and 15 ounces of coffee. If you are a heavy coffee drinker you can Brew one round, and while you're drinking it brew the other round right after you brew the first one, back to back. But one round is good enough for me and I do love coffee.WHAT COULD MAKE IT BETTER?Instead of having just a glass window, it would be best if the tea or coffee was heating inside in all glass capsule. The glass window seems like it's a standard glass thickness (I worked in glass for over 15 years).A better upgrade would be a medium wall glass thickness if the tea was to be heated inside glass. Heavy wall glass is used if it's under a certain amount of pressure. Glass is perfect for coffee or tea because it's non-porous.Many tea and coffee enthusiast love glass because the coffee or tea is able to maintain it's genuine pure taste. Also, if there was a setting where the unit could come to a boil twice, let's say within 15-20 minutes apart that would be awesome. The bubbles help move the tea or coffee around and out of the leaves or beans. The 15 to 20 minutes window will allow the water to really soak in the beans or tea. The bubbles and heat would help to remove more of the coffee or tea from its leaves or beans without any human interaction. If you found this review helpful, please hit that button!
