Supremely accurate, low hassle watch - good looking too!
This is a seriously good watch. The build quality is excellent with nice contrasts between the brushed and polished parts of the case. This theme is continued on the strap and both look very attractive. I like not having a crown to catch on clothing etc.having ripped a few crown/stem assemblies clean out over the years. The stainless steel bracelet is of a good quality; although I do prefer heavier bracelets, I expect many would be satisfied with it.The dial is very clear and legible to read at a glance and has a high quality finish with plated details. The sapphire crystal is a must for me as I clumsily bang watches as I walk past things. I've worn this watch for a few weeks and of course it is still scratch free on the crystal. Luminosity of the hands and dial is as good as any watch I've previously owned but with this watch there is the bonus of a back light. I'm not sure why the light is amber coloured but it does the job in darkness. The best feature of this watch is the accuracy. It is simply as accurate as you can buy because of the daily synchronisation with atomic clock times. I travel to Europe occasionally too so I can pick up the German signal as well as the UK signal with this having 6 radio synchronisation bands. The hands line up exactly with the dial divisions making it very easy to read the exact time. The date display is very easy to read and whilst I never forget which day it is (not yet anyway!), the day is clearly displayed to the left of the date. The calendar is of course perpetual - You never have to adjust anything on this watch unless you change country. You simply wear it and look at it when you want to know the exact time.I never have a problem with charge - the solar charged battery always displays "HI" when I check. I work in an office mostly and sleep in a very dark room, keeping the watch by my bed for reference.Downsides? None really but I would prefer say100m water resistance for a little more comfort if I choose to swim in this watch. With only 50m resistance, I don't think I'll chance it although it is fine for washing hands etc. Some have complained about the difficulty of adjusting the bracelet. I did this myself and found it straightforward using a proper pin removal tool - you can buy them on Amazon cheaply enough. I agree the pins are tight, though. You must drive the pins out in the direction of the arrows on the inside of the strap and obviously, refit them in reverse.Update August 2020. I'm still very happy with this watch and have had no problems in 4 years of regular use. I changed the bracelet for a shark-mesh type which goes very well. I especially appreciate the slimmer profile of the watch which makes it my favourite choice for work. The watch functions perfectly still and due to the sapphire crystal still looks great.

It looks rather classy
I have a couple of G-Shocks so this somewhat more elegant model is a bit of a departure for me. It feels a bit small next the G-Shocks I usually wear, but its a very pretty watch that works better as a dress watch - but it still has stop watch, alarm, countdown timer, world time and pepetual calendar, as well as atomic timekeeping and solar charging, so its sort of got everything really, including a light. If you know Casios you will know they are very easy to set up (or in the case of this one just customising as it sets itself of course), but a word of warning - if you don't have the proper tools and don't know how to take links out of these straps, don't attempt it - there are (very) tiny tubes that form part of each link - they MUST be re-inserted to the two ends of the strap after removing links and it's an extremely fiddly job, even if you do know what you're doing, so in case of doubt have the strap adjusted by a dealer.

My Perfect Watch
I spent many, many hours on-line looking for my perfect watch - and this is it.My criteria were as follows:1. Although I have strong arms my wrists are disproportionately thin, so I wanted a watch which was as small a diameter as possible. Many are a ridiculous looking 50mm diameter and up to 15 mm thick. This Casio is just 40 mm dia and 9 mm thick and fits me perfectly.2. I wanted something which was clear and easy to read, understated and didn't shout "Bling". It's easy to be seduced by lots of tiny dials within the dial. Not much use if you can't read them or spend all your time trying to figure out what they mean.3. I wanted a stopwatch and a countdown timer (I go dinghy racing and a countdown start timer is essential)4. Naturally it must be waterproof. I would have preferred 10 atmospheres, but 5 is good enough and I don't plan on diving in it.5. My watches get a hard life outdoors, so stainless steel or Titanium rather than resin for wear resistance was preferable.6. For the same reason, sapphire glass was preferable to mineral glass or acrylic7. Then I started considering radio control for accuracy and not having to adjust it for Summer Time8. Solar power would be the icing on the cake. No more battery changes for life! This Casio LCW-M100DSE-1AER was the only watch I could find which met all these criteria and more. Best of all, the price is very reasonable compared with other brands, which offered some but not all of my wish list. In the metal, the watch looks fabulous and is much higher quality than I expected from the photos. I took 5 links out of the bracelet in about 15 minutes - not difficult if you watch a You Tube tutorial first. Now it fits snugly and securely on my wrist and I am delighted with my choice. The radio synchronisation occurs every night with the watch on my bedside table, quite far from any window. I left the watch for 30 minutes in the sun and the battery indicator now shows "High" and has stayed that way.As a bonus, it will simultaneously show the time in any other time zone, Extremely handy as I often make business trips to Europe and now don't have to fiddle with resetting my watch on arrival.I highly recommend this watch and still can't believe how much technology Casio gives you for the money.
