Worked well in a 2023 Subaru BRZ limited.
I used this to power a radar detector but it could also be used for a dash cam. Even if you don't have an auto dim mirror, there is a harness connection up above the map lights you can plug this into to tap switched power with this harness. Very simple to use and seems to be well made.

A cost-effective solution to hardwire your dash cam
Installing the DONGAR Dash Cam Power Adapter into my 2016 Subaru CrossTrek was easier and quicker than expected—15 minutes. Two tools were needed for the installation: a pry tool (I would have paid extra to have had this included) and a 5/16” socket wrench. It took several attempts to release the cover with the pry tool to expose the two screws securing the housing for the CrossTrek’s EyeSight cameras. Once the cover and screws were removed, things moved quickly. The EyeSight camera housing was released without tools. The Subaru 3-PIN connector to the rearview mirror was visible and easily accessible. Connecting the DONGAR adapter was a “snap” (pun intended). After attaching the USB connector, powering up the car provided a pleasant/reassuring illumination of the power-on blue light in the USB.Rather than exposing the USB connector externally to the EyeSight housing, I opted to keep it inside and thread the micro-USB short cable (one of three options provided: USB-C, Micro, and Mini) for my Garmin Mini 2 dash cam through the housing and through rearview mirror wiring cover to keep things cleaner. This did result in having slightly less cable available when positioning the dash cam; however, there was enough to connect it.Because I didn’t like the angle of the cable connection, I added a 90 degree adapter for a neater look (Amazon: STUPDOLERI Micro USB 2.0 5Pin Male to Female M to F Extension Connector Adapter Long Plug Connector 90 Degree Right & Left Up Down Angled (RI); $9.99 for two).

Nearly invisible power solution for 2009 Forester
Works great with my older Forester and the aftermarket Roav dashcam I have. I used to just power the camera using the long USB cable to the cigarette outlet, routing the cable under the dash, behind the side pillar and under the front headliner by the top of the windshield. However, after having to replace the windshield twice, this just became too much of a pain.I had bought one of these same units for my Nissan Rogue and was pleased with it, so thought I didn't have much to loose. Have had it installed for several weeks now with zero functionality issues.

Seamless Dashcam Power Solution
The Subaru BRZ dashcam power adapter is a must-have accessory for any BRZ owner looking to install a dashcam. This adapter provides a seamless and professional-looking power solution that connects directly to the rearview mirror. The installation is straightforward, with no need to run cables across the windshield or dashboard. The adapter is compatible with most dashcams and provides a stable power supply for continuous recording. The build quality is excellent, with a durable construction that feels sturdy. Overall, a highly recommended accessory for anyone looking to add a dashcam to their Subaru BRZ.

Works great
Very easy to install. Saves space and keeps me from having to hid a bunch of wires. It doesn't lower video quality and provides good power to my dash camera.

I didn't pay enough attention to the year it works with.
Can confirm that it did not work with my 2024 BRZ. No fault of the unit.
