HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini Business Desktop PC, Intel Core i5-8500, 16 GB RAM DDR4, 512 GB SSD,with Mouse&Keyboard Windows 11 Pro (Renewed)

Needed to replace a PC that would not accept Win11 (thanks MS 😤). Has VESA mount sockets, so a cheap TV wall mount put it on the wall behind my desk and cleared some needed desktop real estate.Brass tacks: This is NOT intended to be a gaming PC. It is at its best being used for personal or business web work, word processing, spreadsheets, email, light video/audio/picture editing, and simple gaming. It boots fast, runs fast, and is relatively quiet. All those complaining about fan noise must realize this uses a desktop-type socket insert processor, so it runs hotter and has higher cooling needs. In practice, it is no noisier than the little USB fan you have on your desk.For the nerds who love to tinker with PCs, this thing is really cool! One thumbscrew opens it up. SSD, memory, processor, eMMC slots are all swappable. There is even an accessory port that can be swapped between VGA, USB, HDMI, even Serial Port!All of this in a package the size of a DVD player. (Remember those?🤣)It arrived very well packaged and cosmetically, I haven't found a single scratch or wear mark. The only thing missing was that "New PC" smell 🤣.

This computer shipped with Windows 11 Home NOT Windows 11 Pro as the description indicates. Unfortunately, I needed Windows 11 Pro for the machine to be useful with our business. Amazon said that I could upgrade to Windows 11 Pro for an additional $124 or return the machine. I am returning the machine. The shipper was Tech Magnet according to Amazon, not Green Tech Computers as listed in the description. Can not trust that you'll get what is advertised.

Plug and play, so far it is working like a charm. I got it refurbished, amazed to see how well it works in such a tiny package. It was for my kid to do regular stuff, and this package and capabilities is exactly what I needed. It can also perform well for games like Roblox etc. Very happy with it so far.

2nd computer I purchased from this person, had sound for maybe 2 days then we lost it! Also it keeps telling me to activate Windows and when I try it says "We cant install windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or valid digital product key" So I messaged them and told them I want my window code and all they could tell me was this "Hello.I am very sorry for the inconvenience. According to your situation, since we are unable to resolve this issue for you remotely at this time, we suggest that you request a return from Amazon. If you would like to repurchase this product, we would like to offer you the price of $282 that you previously ordered, which we hope you will accept.We are very sorry for this and we have registered your case and will strengthen our checks on this issue in the future.Once again, our sincere apologies.Best regards. HP Elitedesk 800G4 w/ 512Gb SSD, and 16GB memory.This particular HPG4 has an issue. When I powered up the PC for the first time, I went into the BIOS immediately to verify settings. Plus, I like to turn off the automatic Numbers-Lock key. I found and ran the memory diagnostics, and was surprise to find a hardware failure. One of the two 8GB SODIMM memory cards failed the test. I am an electrical engineer, and have the facilities to do maintenance on electronics such as an anti-static work area, so I figured out which card was bad, HP is pretty good about documentation for their products, and that helps a bunch. I contacted Amazon via their internet chat.Right now, the PC is up and running with only 8GB of memory pending a replacement of the bad part. I am please to have it working. I have verified the various other aspects of performance, and everything else seems to be functioning as promised.As of this writing, the plan from Amazon customer service is for me to purchase a new card from Amazon, and the customer service agent has put a note in my account. Once I receive the replacement, they intend to refund the price of the replacement card. Apparently, they can not issue replacement parts, only replace the entire PC, so I appreciate the service agent's willingness to 'fix' this issue.

This particular PC doesn't play well with Windows 11. More rigorous testing needs to be done prior to shipping. The first one wouldn't power-up. The second one had a (presumably) defective GPU. The graphics kept crashing, and needed a "forced shutdown" before rebooting.

The monitor has a bar code sticker stuck to the screen and I can not get it off. I'm afraid I will damage the screen

Met all my expectations! No more bulky desktop. Hello more desk space!
