Premium feel Chromebook Plus model with an excellent screen and brightness. Very, very fast.
This is one slick Chromebook. I've been running Chromebooks since the early days in 2010? 2011?. Anyhow this model is the best by far. Screen is bright and colors are accurate. Build quality is excellent. Keyboard typing is very pleasant especially for a chromebook. Nothing seems to slow it down. My only complaint would be the new front firing speaker is not very loud although it sounds accurate. I would give this a 4.8/5 due to weak speaker.

great laptop overall, but i experienced a battery failure after 6 months
I love this product overall. It was a great value and worked flawlessly. However, the battery stopped charging after about 6 months of light use. I have ordered a new battery for $40 on my own dime to see if this will fix it. However it could also be a motherboard/charging circuitry problem in which case I am out the entire value of the laptop and the replacement battery. It still does work when connected to a good charger. I have tried all the other battery resets that are described in the literature - replacing the battery is the last thing that can be tried. If that works I will be happy. If not, the laptop still otherwise works but will have to stay tethered to a power cord.*** UPDATE: the replacement battery was easy to install and indeed fixed my problem. It is charging normally so seems to have just been a battery problem and not other circuitry. Big relief. One problem remains and is peculiar - it can only boot from the power-off position if plugged in. One booted, if it stays in standby that works fine just from battery. But if I turn it off completely, you can't start it back up without plugging it in - would mainly be an issue when not at home, and as long as you normally to use sleep rather than power off, it seems fine. But still a frustrating issue considering how much a paid for computer and then the replacement battery. I am just glad it works at all, though.

So far so good. Very fast.
Don't really like the lack of a lip to help open it. Just the small notch where the camera blocking slide is. My first Chromebook and for what I use it for, it is excellent. Lightning fast.. Screen resolution is off the charts. The speakers suck, but that's par for lap tops. 4 out of 5... Maybe 4 1/2

The potential appears promising, however, the execution is unfortunately lacking.
After 16 months of use, I will not be replacing my 714 with a new one. The positive aspects include an attractive design, an excellent screen that maximizes the available space, a light weight, and a clear keyboard. However, there are several drawbacks. The device becomes quite hot after a reasonable period of use, and the battery life significantly decreases within 12 months. Additionally, after 16 months of regular use, the camera and voice frequently drop during Zoom calls. The screen also has a lengthy "wake-up" time of approximately 30-45 seconds (sometimes even a few minutes), making it an unreliable machine for the price.
