I've experienced considerable frustration with my 2017 Silverado's tendency to switch between V6 and V4 modes unpredictably, prompting me to explore potential solutions.Recently, I discovered this AFM disabler compatible with my truck and decided to experiment with it, aiming for substantial improvements. Initially, I had my doubts regarding its efficiency, but the results have been impressively positive.The device consistently maintains my truck in V6 mode, eliminating the unwanted shift to V4, especially noticeable when easing off the gas at high speeds or during downhill drives. This has effectively addressed the annoying lag issue.The device's indicators are straightforward and informative—a solid red light signals proper power connection, while a blinking green light confirms the disabler's active operation. As of now, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive! Higly recommened!

It definitely works. My fuel economy improved on the interstate but stayed about the same in this city. It proved to me that the active fuel management does not actually improve you fuel economy its all smoke and mirrors. Afm is terrible on your lifters and transmission.

Got this as a lightening deal, was slightly concerned it was cheaper than any other AFM disabler. Plugged it in today and was relieved it worked great! Now I understand why owners rave about these things, my GMC sierra 5.3L went from a kitten to a beast. V8 all the time is the way to go. Only lost .7mpg on my regular runs.It's also true trucks feel like the transmission runs smoother too - not sure why but no complaints :)3 days in - super happy we bought this!

Did exactly what it was purchased to do. Bypasses DFM and no longer have chatter when changing from V8 to V4, as it stays in V8 mode.

Good price. Works great. A must buy!5.3 sierra 2016. vibration and squeaking sounds while lightly on the throttle recently. Not serious but I'm worried it'll get worse. To avoid costly future repairs, I decided to give it a try for the afm disabler. I searched amazon and got this one just for the good price and attractable color and design. I drove with it for several days. works great! the truck keeps in V8 all the time now. no more vibration or noise. shifting and accelerating are extremely smooth, with continuous and stable strong power. and MPG didn't change. amazing! It's worth the money. I highly recommend it.

Been a mechanic 20 plus years. This isnt a fix all, but until i can adress the afm issue, i am very greatful for this part. 5 seconds and under $50 and the truck runs perfect. No misfiring, no check engine light. I can drive my vehicle without causing more problems until I can fix it correctly.
