This is one of the most effective tools I've found for digging out roots, breaking up hard ground/ tarmac and other medieval tasks around the garden. It's long, heavy and combined with a post digger and mattock you'll be ready to take on any fencing or landscaping task with confidence. I used it on a long row of privet hedge prior to erecting a fence. The next job is two tree stumps, which should prove to be a challenge.

This tool is great for getting out old roots and chopping off same if necessary. I made myself a simple frame from wood so that I can use it as a lever when getting out roots, and this adds considerably to its usefulness. Would have liked blade to be a little sharper, but this is perhaps a minor quibble. And I can see that the pointy end would also be useful for breaking up concrete if needed. Make sure there is no one near you when using it though, since could do a lot of damage if used carelessly.

A heavy and well made item that makes light work of digging in flinty ground or tackling routes. Would highly recommend!

Awesome, wish I'd had this when digging out a garden pond. Used for digging fence post holes (easy to get vertical sides), destroying concrete and pivoting out a particularly nasty concrete+rebar fence post plug. Didn't need a separate fence post digging tool, this does the job of several tools. Does get impact damage fairly quickly, but tip hasn't warn much with prolonged use. Also very good for slicing though roots and bits of tree stump

Great digging bar! I regret not having bought one years ago. Good for preparing planting holes, removing stones etc. Also good for removing old roots etc. Generally very useful and recently used to remove large deep rooted weeds.

Feels sturdy. Excellent product. Just the job for getting tree roots up.
