Fellow anemics, this is the iron supplement that you need! I was diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia two years ago after I fainted on the subway and woke up in a stranger's arms in Times Square. My doc's advice was to take iron pills, so I went out and bought the cheapest kind I could find. Do not make the same mistake! The cheap iron pills (ferrous sulfate) made me so nauseous and sick that I couldn't continue taking them. I love this iron. I have iron-deficient anemia due to menorrhagia and I've needed infusions in the past. My ferritin had dropped to 4 before my last one. My hematologist wants me on daily supplementation, for obvious reasons. Every kind of ferrous sulfate I have tried leaves me with horrible constipation, feeling queasy, and still needing infusions. I made it through a pregnancy and c-section with Zahlers and my iron levels were shockingly great. My other two children were before Zahlers and I had issues. I stopped taking it for a several months out of total stupidity and last month found myself short of breath, dragging after one flight of stairs, and exhausted, with my heart rate sky high, my pulse ox low. It was 88 one morning after waking up. I panicked, assumed my heart was failing. My heart wasn't happy, but not failing.Duh. I'm anemic. Such an idiot. I was given two weeks to get my levels going up. I started Zahlers again, and over the past couple weeks my energy has returned, brain fog lifted, my pulse ox is 100% again, and my heart rate while doing regular daily tasks is 90 or below and down a few ticks every day. It was regularly at 125 until a week ago. Until I finally have a hysterectomy and my hematologist says I'm safe, I'm not stopping again. I am SO thankful for this stuff. And that I can easily afford it. I take it as directed in the morning, and take my vitamin D in the afternoon. It's easy to swallow, and no constipation or nausea. I highly recommend it.

I've been using this product for several years now. It doesn't make me gag the way the multivitamin hard tabs did with iron, doesn't make me constipated or cause me stomach pain, and effectively brought up my iron levels right away. I have recommended it to a friend who has had similar problems as stated with her iron supplements. This is a great product. I was severely anemic before taking them.

It worked for me and quite quickly! I was skeptical that anything could help with my chronic anemia. The liquid iron product I used to take now has too many unnecessary ingredients including corn sugar and is also costly. I had been so exhausted lately to the point when I wheeled my trash can out to the curb for pick up, I had to go in the house and rest.I came here to Amazon and tried to find anything that would help! I was taking a myriad of essential supplements already to no avail. Certain iron supplements would constipate me, hurt my stomach and did not seem absorb-able so back to square one I went with my chronic exhaustion, foggled brain, poor appetite, etc. etc. If you're here you know what I am talking about.I purchased Zahlers Iron Complex and put all supplements aside. The instructions were to take one capsule but I decided to try 2. I really didn't pay attention for days one and two but by the third day I noticed my mood was more upbeat and hopeful. I found myself doing chores that previously had to wait. I continued the full week of taking one or two and I experienced real rest at night.
