Good well made hammer, just a bit small for gun smithing
This is a very well made hammer. I purchased this hammer for buildingAR lowers and general gun smithing. While it did the job pretty good it is more of a jewelry hammer. The price is right. And I will continue to use it in tight places and light tapping but I will look for a larger brass/non-marring hammer with replaceable heads or brass/delrin faces. This is hammer show quite a bit of wear anddivots to the hammer faces but it is designed to take the damage rather that the item you are working on. With the hammer being so light you tend to swing it harder and therefore increase the chance of missed strikes and certainly numerous strikes. I feel a slightly larger hammer would do the work for you and require less work. This is a good hammer, just needs a little more ass on it.

Nicely Surprised - Excellent
I was nicely surprised - excellent quality. The brass head is nicely machined, sits tight and 90 degrees to the handle. Handle is smooth, nicely lacquered (not overdone) and made from tight grain hardwood and comfortable in the hand. Overall it is well balanced and vey well made product. Arrived quickly and well packaged. With brass head weight just 3oz it is perfect for hand plane lateral iron adjustments (will use on my Lie-Nielsen hand planes) and for jewelry making as well.

Nice little hammer. I will use it for tap tap tapping work pieces into alignment on my mill. The handle and head are very securely attached

Good for bolt catch roll pin installation
Title is what I purchased this for. It works well. Quality seems okay and the price was right. Of course it's going to deform a bit. That's the whole reason for it being made of brass and not a stronger material.

Great small brass hammer
Haven't had any problems with the hammer. Been using it for about 3 months now, no trouble. (Update) this hammer has been of great use for just over six years. I've recently been using it a little more rough lately but has still held up great. The head has still not come even slightly loose. The brass head is a little bit chewed up now bit better the hammer taking the abuse than your work. I've definitely got my moneys with out of this hammer. Might be time to purchase another one soon, at least I know I'll get about 6 years of use out of it, and for the price, I'm happy with that.
