Review of Javvy Protein Coffee – French Vanilla Instant Iced CoffeeI'm about halfway through my first bag as I write this review. As someone who has been a fan of Javvy concentrate to make my morning iced coffee—while usually having a separate protein drink to round off my low-carb “breakfast”—I figured I’d give this a shot to see if I could combine the two.I had two typical caffeine/breakfast preferences in the morning:1. A Trenta (30 oz.) Starbucks cold brew with heavy cream and no artificial sweetener (about 10 carbs for the drink), which is smooth and not bitter. I don’t like Starbucks iced coffee, but their cold brew is generally good. The cost is a little shy of $6 out the door.2. I would drink a 30 g low-carb protein drink separately (about $2 each when bought in bulk), bringing the total to about $8/day, which would last me until lunch.Drinking the 30 g protein drink while making a separate iced coffee drink (sometimes using the protein drink as a milk/cream substitute since protein drinks are typically thick) using Javvy coffee concentrate—for a total of about $4.50/day.Since my usual morning coffee is a 24 oz. to 30 oz. drink, I've used two loose scoops of the Javvy protein coffee in the drink. This yields about 130 calories, roughly 20 g of protein, and 8 g of carbs (6 net carbs) for that two-scoop serving before adding any milk or cream. The package says you can use water instead of milk, but no thanks (okay, maybe I’ll try it in the future...maybe). I use unsweetened coconut milk and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream, and before adding any sweeteners, it’s already pretty tasty.Taste: Smooth like cold brew or good iced coffee, with a nice coffee flavor. It could be due to the coconut milk, but I don’t get much of a “French vanilla flavor,” or perhaps it blends nicely with the coconut milk. If stirring initially with a spoon, you may find some clumps caked on the spoon. Licking that off isn’t particularly tasty but tolerable. Not doing so would likely result in negligible waste of protein powder.Texture: So far, I’ve blended this with a frother twice, shaken it twice, and stirred it vigorously with a spoon four times. In all cases, there have only been very small clumps remaining, which seem to dissipate before I drink them, or are too small to notice. Overall, it blends and dissolves very well, so you aren’t left with bitter chunks while enjoying your coffee.Caffeine: The bag says it has about 80 mg of natural caffeine per serving, so my 24 oz. to 30 oz. drink only contains about 160 mg in total, compared with a typical 8 oz. cup of coffee at 160 mg to 200 mg, or my Starbucks 30 oz. cold brew with about 360 mg since it’s not entirely coffee. I’ve never been perceptive to caffeine’s effects, so this doesn’t concern me, and it’s probably a healthier dose of caffeine than the overkill I usually consume.Cost: Since I’m about eight beverages into this bag, I estimate I may get about 12 two-scoop servings per bag for about $30 unless you can get a better deal or buy in bulk. While it provides approximately 20 g of protein instead of the usual 30 g from a separate protein drink, it may end up being a suitable replacement. Instead of $2 for my protein drink and $2.50 (or $6 at Starbucks) for coffee, I could just go with the $2.50 for a Javvy iced protein coffee drink.Overall: Initially, I was resistant to investing in the protein coffee (“$30 for a bag of coffee! That’s crazy!” I said to my husband). However, after trying it and doing the math, it actually makes a lot more sense for my frugality. Highly recommend!

Absolutely LOVE this!
It all started with one and as you can see it continued on lol. I waited to review until I knew for sure. So let me give you my opinion on Javvy protein coffee.. I had VSG 5 1/2 yrs ago. Since then I have been through some protein powders and coffees... I have a few standards lol, can't upset my stomach ✔️, can't taste chalky ✔️, has to mix well without feeling like I just done a arm workout ✔️, now I have a few more but let's talk about coffee flavor... I am a medium coffee flavor with a hint of whatever flavor... So here is my personal favorites. Macho PERFECT coffee, choc mixture. Hazelnut, now normally I am NOT a hazelnut kinda gal, but this protein coffee is amazing, more coffee than hazelnut to me. The original is the perfect strength of coffee to me.. Personally I mix my protein coffee (1 scoop per 8 oz) with 7oz.of cheap unsweetened almond milk along with 1 oz or more of sugar free creamer, depends on the flavor I am wanting but the Italian sweet cream mixes great with all of them, add ice and sugar free whipped topping if you want, drink. If you want it sweeter & don't care about calories or carbs, use whole milk! I use a flother to mix it & it does very well .. I have also made this in a shaking cup with ice and used the ice to mix it .. I don't prefer this way, leaves a few clumps (not many) & I prefer a straw.. If I want more protein I use a protein shake like Premier or Fairlife w/milk & add a scoop to it... The possibilities are endless but the bottom line is, this coffee protein is excellent.. The package is a resealable bag that doesn't take up much space in my cabinet.. Which I love because I hate clutter looking cabinets lol, the seal works greaks, not cheap ones like some I have tried! My ONLY con would be price. BUTTT if you do the math and compare it to others, it's an average price. Ice coffee drinks from coffee shops are A LOT more expensive then Javvy per scoop. This is going save you some $$...

I just ordered 4 more bags!!
I have been a Javvy fan for years. I have added the Javvy concentrate to random varieties of protein powders and shakes over the years trying to find a good combination. I was a little skeptical about their protein coffee but based on the great experience I've had with their concentrates I had to give it a shot. Once I tried it I'm hooked. I just ordered 4 more bags!! Smooth and creamy. Great flavor. I got the caramel to start with. I ordered the other flavors to see which one I like best. I don't love the way the bag closes. It is a little difficult to "zip" closed sometimes so I worry it isn't sealing as well as it should. You do have to shake it pretty aggressively to break it all up. I usually make it at night and pop it in the fridge. Give it a quick shake and add some ice in the morning and it's ready to roll. Makes my morning protein shake/coffee routine much easier!! My only real complaint is with the company itself. I can't stand being forced into a subscription plan to get a decent price. I want to order when I need the product. If a product is amazing then it should stand on it's own and people will want to order again and again without the pressure of an automatic subscription. I don't know how long it will take to use what I have. At one point I had about 12 bottles of Javvy and they were trying to send more. So you have to cancel the subscription and then start again later. The introductory pricing should carry on to each subscription purchase. I don't like the bait and switch type of pricing. You get a really good price then it's jacked up 50% when you get the next order. No reward for loyalty.
