CholestCare Phytosterol Essentials

Ordered these CholestCare Phytosterol Essentials for my husband as he has high cholesterol despite consuming a near perfect diet. He had been taking a much more expensive over the counter product for years, and we thought we would try this brand. We appreciate that these are made with a plant sterol complex, and are vegan and gluten free. This product work as well, or better, than his previously more expensive vitamins. He reports these are easy to swallow, leave no aftertaste and don't upset his stomach. Will continue to use.

This seems to be a good quality Cholesterol blend so far.- Capsules are easy to swallow- No odd aftertaste or ill effects- Price/Value is decent- Label doesn't have GMP stamp nor is there any claim of 3rd party lab testing (I haven't seen a COA yet)I haven't had any problem taking these, but I'm only giving 4 stars for now until I have a chance to view a COA from the company or a 3rd party for this product. If/when I receive that, I'll revise my review accordingly.

I ordered the CholestCare Phytosterol Essentials by essential MD. The product came shrink wrapped and with a foil seal under the lid for tamper proofing, which I appreciate in consumables. There are 90 gel caps in each bottle and a serving size is 3 gel caps. The size of the gel cap is just under an inch so it is on the average size. I took one gel cap and had no stomach upset or other ill effects. Just make sure you take with a good amount of water (as is the case for most supplements). Time (and blood tests) will tell if the product is effective. At $19 for a month's supply, this is on the pricier side of supplements that I take.

I got these to help support healthy cholesterol levels. They have a nice mix of different plant sterols which is free of gluten, diary, nuts and shellfish. However, the instructions are confusing as to what the daily serving size should be. There are 60 capsules and it says the daily serving size is 3 capsules in two different places. But, it also says there are 30 servings for the entire container. But if you take 3 capsules each day, out of the 30 total, you would only have 20 servings for the container. I'm also not sure what the ingredients daily intake levels listed are actually based on (2 capsules or 3 capsules per day).These are advertised as made in the US of all natural ingredients and contain no common allergens. My bottle had an outer seal around the cap and an inner seal underneath the cap. So, any tampering would be clearly evident. Also, my bottle has a December 2026 expiration date, so they are presumably shipped fresh and have a long shelf life left. However, I feel these are very expensive at $0.93/day (for 3 capsules per day) or $0.62/day (for 2 capsules per day). I feel these are effective and contain a healthy mix of plant sterols. However, I feel there are better and more cost effective options available.

The serving size is 3 capsules but there are only 60 capsules in the bottle. They need to provide 90 capsules because this doesn't even last a month as it is. I do like how it has several ingredients to help lower cholesterol, not just plant sterols. Citrus flavonoids work great together with sterols, I just wish they provided 90 capsules for a better value.

These cholesterol pills are easy to swallow. There's no aftertaste. The ingredients are natural. I'll monitor to see how it affects my cholesterol levels.
