Great Practice Head
For this years bow season I decided to give the Montec G5 broadheads a try. I have my recurve sighted in dead on with field points but I always like to practice with the heads I'll be hunting with so I ordered these G5 practice heads. Normally I would sacrifice a couple of my hunting broadheads to use for practice but with these heads now I don't have to. I was thrilled to find that they flew exactly like my field points and had the exact same point of impact so I don't have to adjust my sight at all. They are also very durable heads. I'm very pleased with these practice heads and will be ordering another set of them for my practice sessions.

Wish I would have practiced with these before my first hunt
Practice broad heads... Exactly what I SHOULD have practiced with. This was my first season bow hunting and I had been practicing all year with my field tips (100 grains). Well, theoretically, I thought that my broad heads would shoot the same as my field tips because the weights were identical, both 100 grains. That wasn't the case, and I know I'm being laughed at by seasoned bow hunters for making that mistake. I was shooting five inches low with the broad heads vs the field tips. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way with the first deer that morning. I was hunting from a lock on about 25 feet up. I had filmed my hunt and after reviewing my miss in slow motion I could see the shaft of the arrow smacked the deer on the belly and ricochet into the ground; a near miss but a miss nonetheless. To say I was upset is an understatement. I re-adjusted my sights after shooting at a target and I was dead on again. I got back on the stand that evening and dropped my first deer with a bow -- DRT. Every bow hunter remembers the first time. It's beyond description. Anyway, don't let what happened to me, happen to you. Do yourself a favor and buy these for practice to ensure accuracy before you miss that deer. Good luck.

Great practice head
These heads are great for practicing without dulling or ruining your hunting heads. They are black so it’s easy to tell which ones are for practice and which ones are for hunting.

Reliable fixed blade broadheads
These broadheads are very sharp, and fly straight. Others must have received a bad batch, I scaled mine and they are all exactly 125 gr.

Great to shoot the G5 Broadhead without dulling the super ...
Great to shoot the G5 Broadhead without dulling the super sharp hunting version. Very well made. Damaged the tip of one, easy to file it back into shape. They fly great, about 3-4 inches lower than smooth100 grain target tips. Can't wait for my elk hunt in 2 weeks.

I like them, but there's just too many bent ones...
I really like the Montecs; they fly very well for me, and these practice heads are pretty consistent to the actual broad heads. However, I'm starting to have real trouble getting heads that are true. I'm averaging about 50% of heads (practice or the CS 100 grain) not being straight, based on using an arrow spinner. That's not just my opinion; I took every Montec I had to the local pro shop and he found the same issue.I've talked with G5 support, and they have been very accommodating. They shipped me a few packs as replacements for my bad heads once I sent in some pictures, etc. to them, but even what they sent still had 50% or more that weren't true.So I have enough practice heads and CS real heads to hunt for awhile, but I'm probably going to switch to something different; for $10+ each, with the spin-tested guarantee, they should all be fine, and that's just not what I'm finding. No issues with the seller, BTW; they came in fast and were exactly what I ordered.
