Glad I got this. Just returned from a two-week dive trip in the Caribbean. Lots of sun of course! I applied this product on my face and neck prior to first and 2nd dives - I never burned. I'm fair skinned but not a magnet for sun burns. I did not have a prior base that I can speak of. The product works well, and blends into your skin fairly quickly, avoiding the white out from other mineral products.Downside - the container has some type of flow restriction. This had the effect of periodically not letting product out and then spurting out all of a sudden. Not sure if a dud, but except for that I would say absolutely I'd buy again.

I’ve been trying different mineral sunscreens for my face and the Banana Boat Mineral 50 is exceeding my expectations!! Compared to other more expensive options, this product is amazing. It rubs in easily, does NOT leave a white cast, and dries to a smooth satin finish. Makeup applies easily over it, and it doesn’t become greasy. It works flawlessly to protect from the sun, and it’s fragrance free. The price is great for the quality ingredients and the size of the tube. I will be buying this again!

I am a fellow brown girl and i bought this to try out since it was affordable and claimed to be creamy and blend in. I will say for comparison to the cooperton kid 50 spf sunscreen this one beats that- it is because this one is creamy and doesn’t leave my hands dry like the coolerton one did, it doesn’t leave much of a white cast at all if you blend it properly or layer it. It’s affordable for the oz AND it’s good spf range while being reef safe too. So far so good 6/7/25

Since having kids, I have only used mineral sunscreen on them. This is an amazing one. It goes on even, the white streaks are minimal, and most importantly, it doesn't feel OILY! That is my biggest qualm with most sunscreens - yes, even mineral ones that claim they aren't. This one truly isn't oily or tacky. It does have a smell (what sunscreen doesn't?) but it isn't an overwhelming artificial smell that's like coconutty.

I am shocked at how good this mineral sunscreen is. I am a mineral sunscreen junkie and have so many expensive ($50+ a bottle) high end versions. I have fair/light combo skin and hate greasy, pasty sunscreen. This mineral sunscreen rubs in quickly and isn’t greasy. It out performs MANY high end sunscreens. I love that it has 19% zinc (substantial compared to some others) and is waterproof 80 mins. One thing I found interesting (and awesome) is that iron oxide is listed (last) in the ingredients, which means it has a *very* slight tint. Iron oxide is shown to help block visible/blue light which can be important to people like me with discoloration. This sunscreen is pretty robust for a “basic” drugstore brand. The color is more of a (very pale yellow almost?) off white, not stark white, I think due to the iron oxide listed. I wouldn’t call it tinted, but at least it’s better than paper white sunscreen. In comparison to other thick, heavy, greasy stark white mineral sunscreens, this one is a breeze to rub in! I cannot find anywhere if this sunscreen is nano or non nano, so that’s something to take into consideration if you care, which I really do not. If nano sunscreen is a big concern of yours I would reach out to banana boat to confirm. I purchased this so I don’t have to use my expensive face mineral sunscreens on my body but shockingly this may end up being my new favorite mineral face sunscreen. It isn’t drying on me personally (combo skin leaning oily) and it also wore fine under makeup. The finish is a soft satin after dried down. I’m pretty blown away! It preformed perfect at the pool, even in humidity. I will most likely repurchase. I’m glad to not have to repurchase the more expensive MDSolar science mineral sunscreen I was previously using on my body. I purchased with my own money no paid review! 10 out of 10 for the value and performance from me!!!

This is a great item for mineral sunscreen. It has no fragrance. A nice size tube. It can stand up because it has a flat top. It has a slight tint which blends and absorbs into the skin. Not sticky or a strange texture. It can be a little liquidity when you squeeze the tube. So I sit it upright and shake it before use and it helps so more creamy.I love it because it is so hard to find fragrance free or unscented products due to asthma and allergies.

Unlike every other mineral sunscreen I’ve tried, this one blends well with my skin tone without leaving a white cast. It also doesn’t leave my face and body feeling greasy.
