A Must Have Referene Book l Damaged Shipment
This is an extremely valuable reference book for any serious traders, new or seasoned. The content of the book is exactly what I was looking for. I especially like the statistics on the performance & failure. The only thing I am very disappointed is the packaging for the shipment used. This is a NEW hardcover book with 999 pages therefore it is quite heavy. Packaging material used was a mere lightweight bubble Kraft envelope, therefore the book was delivered with damaged corners on the cover & half of the internal corner pages on one end.People who buy NEW printed books expect the book arrive in pristine condition. The packaging material used for shipping need to be in great care, like what Amazon used to do. Next order better come undamaged or I shall order from other online resources whenever I don't need to be concerned about the product referral fee gets to the author or product reviewer.

Great book and information!
The book is well worth the price. It outlines 63 trends and gives statistics for each one. He writes well and describes each one with tactics to improve your odds and what to lookout for. The picture is just the preface of a chapter. Each chapter includes 20-30 pages of analysis and advice. Also, the book is made out of quality material and seems like it’ll easily last for years.

This belongs on your shelf, period.
Quite frankly, and this is coming from a professional technical market analyst, this belongs on the bookshelf of anyone who has advanced beyond the basic introductory concepts of technical analysis. I would highly recommend that anyone who is new to the discipline first begin with the similarly must-have text entitled "How to Make Money in Stocks" by William J. O'Neil. If you have absorbed the phenomenal introduction to charting provided in said text, you will most certainly make frequent use of this text by Thomas Bulkowski. It is absolutely a reference book, rather than a page-turner of a method-based instructional book; for those who are ready to progress towards advanced charting, perhaps those considering taking any of the CMT exams, this is a worthwhile investment!

If you are serious about trading, this is a must have in your arsenal
I think every trader that wants to be successful should have this book. All the data is back tested and statistically supported with hundreds of study cases. It's not his opinion but objective facts what he presents here. This is not a book to read from cover to cover (I read the entire book though), but a reference to become very familiar with the patterns you want to trade. After trading the same patterns for a while you become very familiar with the patterns and become second nature, however I recommend you read the pattern section every so often to make sure you are not overlooking anything. The knowledge you will acquire here will pay for the book several times over and over.I also own "Trading Classic Chart Patterns" from the same author. This book comes with a scoring system for patterns which is also available on his website.

a massive read a massive book
This book is definatley not a light and easy read it will take a lot of time and work to get through the book .As for the contents they are quite detailed in respect to the definitions of each chart pattern approx 10-15 pages per chart pattern with approx 70 chart patterns explained. As the book states it is an encyclopedia of chart patterns and makes for a good reference when searching for patterns in charts .The statistics are interesting but can be overwhelming as there are so many from different points to consider from weather the market is in a bull or bear market to weather the stock is beaking up or down at the time of interpretation .the interesting parts were the explanation and tour of the charts, identification guidelines of each chart and the sample trade. In summary a detailed statistical reference book explaning how and why chart patterns occur

Masterwork
This is a masterpiece by Bulkowski, exactly what I need. It's more like a dictionary or an well-organized collection of charts for experienced traders who already have basic foundation of patterns names. The graphs are small, but they are not the point of this book. I will recommend reading the technical analysis books first before reading this. Overall, it's a quick reference book rather than a comprehensive book in terms of chart patterns.

Truly an Encyclopedia
I am a forex trader but my purpose of getting this book was to understand the various different patterns understood and the meaning of them. This book allows for just that. Use it to understand what each pattern means and predict outcomes though keep in mind that in a forex market, you do not have volume which is referenced a lot in here, so keep in mind the 'pattern strength' as described in the book may not be truly reflective that of a forex market.Overall a very good read for anyone who wants to learn patterns for trading.
