Q: Are these good to use with the noise of a zero turn mower?

They are good if u are listening to music or something, but to just have them in protection, u will still be able to hear the mower. I work in a chicken plant and we ate required to wear ear plugs. When my music is not on, I can still hear the noise a little bit, but not as much as if I wasn't wearing them. I hope thos helps.

Q: Does Elgin have replacement collar clips ? good idea, bad design..next time ill super glue them on.

Q: Can one side be turned off at a time?

No you can’t, I just leave one side out of my ear and use safety ear plug.
