Chronic failures of multiple units
I have used this unit and its predecessors in my fixtures for over 20 years. Most have lasted close to that time. But four recent (2022) replacements have all failed within 4-6 weeks. They did not initially dim down as far as their predecessors, instead shutting off at about 10% light output. Within a few weeks, however, they would then shut off at higher and higher dimming levels. Eventually, they failed to stay on for more than a few seconds even when not dimmed. Because 2 had been used for over 30 days, I could not return them via Amazon. I was able to secure refunds or free replacements for others. Advance apparently has a serious quality control problem with its recently manufactured units. Beware of similar dimmable units from Sylvania and Lutron that appear to be the same. Using either would require re-wiring your fixtures to accommodate their wiring. I am now converting my fixtures to use dimmable strips of LEDs. DO NOT not buy dimmable Advance ballasts for T5HO lamps.

It is a direct replacement
I needed a ballast for an existing fixture. The ballast needed was discontinued or if i could locate one it was very expensive. I found that this was a replacement. We all know how that goes. I did not know if it would work with the existing dimming system. I replaced the bad ballast with this ballast and everything worked great.
