It is in fact stainless steel wool
I've bought so many steel wool products that claim to be *stainless steel* wool but are not - they're just regular old garden variety steel wool that rusts the instant you begin to use it and turns to powder in your hands.I had an appication where stainless steel wool would work better by lasting longer - not rusting or breaking up. This steel wool did the job.

Lowers noise level and harshness.
Packed the muffler on a twin cylinder Kawasaki powering a zero-turn mower. No objective before and after tests, but subjectively I detect a significant difference in loudness. The material is coarse and should last a long time.

Easy to use.
Easy to separate and tear off the amount needed. I used it to place in the weep holes of my house as some of the originals put in place by pest control company had come out over the years.

stainless steel wool
I purchase this to use to plug holes etc.. (repels rodents) as it rusts more slowly than regular steel wool - BUT it still rusts - make no mistake. Just have to be honest.

Hooray for steel wool that doesn't rust and disintigrate!
I've had the same pad on the sink since I bought these--about a month--and it still hasn't rusted, even with repeated use!So happy! I'd rather pay a bit more than the usual kitchen steel wool pads and get something useful than pay less for something that basically I get to use once before needing to throw away and use a new one.
