Lovely chess board. Not large but not too small. Around the side of a plate. I thought the pieces would be heavier they are light and easy to knock, but still really beautiful and compliments decor in our home.

Looks OK but has a plasticky poor quality feel. Just small things like the interior where the pieces are stored, the sponge isn't attached properly. The chess board isn't flat, the pieces don't have velvet on the bottom so they can scratch the board etc not worth the £58

For the money they ask for the item - it's just perfect. A decent replica in a decent box.When speaking of the practicality... well,for an itinerant scholar such as myself, this is a good option, since I love Viking stuff, but if you want to play this set a lot - think of something else. The pieces are really small, and even though moving the figures is possible when cautious, moving the pawns, which are half the size of the rest of the figures, is a pain. The first game I played with this set turned out to be a tie since I tripped the pieces over while trying to move my pawn.But if you get handy with it, you'll get a lot of esthetical pleasure while playing!

I absolutely love this set. It reminds me of the set I had as a child and is part of my plan to rekindle my love of chess. It's so exciting to finally have enough free time to get back into something I used to love. I read the comments about it being small, which is perfect for me so I can keep it nearby. Also it's not too big so I can travel with it if I want to. I don't like the usual small/tiny travel sets so I just need to pack this set with care and off I go. I only have to work out how to stop them from slipping if I want to use them on the train for example. Perhaps a thin felt mat/chessboard might help.

Wow I love this very detailed on all pieces a little small. but grt for the cabinet. It's beautiful and recommend to any one but not for kids as they would break easily....
