Turn Counterclockwise
As above, be sure to turn the post at least a full turn counterclockwise with an 8mm open end wrench before decompressing and installing. Like an idiot, I fully installed the strut on my truck...thrice!...before figuring out how to do it properly. Dont let it turn qgain when tightening the main 19mm bolt down to the plate. I had to shave about half of the supplied top rubber gasket to get enough thread for the top bolt. ALSO, you can test if its locked by compressing the shock (it will compress easily by body weight). Be sure to perfectly align the stud bolts on the top of the OE strut plate (3 bolts in a triangle pattern) with the bottom of the strut before decompressing spring. For better or worse, i ran a long pipe through the bottom of the shock and looked from above to be sure the 2 bolts nearest the 9-setting red knob were parallel with the pipe before decompressing springs. You wont be able to aligh the strut durung install to install if you dont check this. FYI. I used the single-action spring compressor from harbot freight. Worth the $60. Own, not rent. I found that the rental ones compress from the INSIDE. Which doesnt work. These shocks ride WAY BETTER than stock. I used these with the Rough Country 4" Lift Kit for my 2005 Nissan Titan LE.

Don't waste your time and money!!!
I bought the to replaced a small spacer since these had a lift built in. Even with a larger bump stop, these short travel shocks couldn't handle larger dips in the road, much less any light off roading. Would start leaking about two months after install. Rancho warranty points right back to the seller causing the runaround!Waste of time and money! Save yours in the long run and buy real "lifted" shocks...if I could give NO stars, I would....

RS9000XL
So in short, these shocks are AMAZING! Extremely easy to install once you figure it out. The reason I said once you fiugre it out, is the instructions aren't very "user" friendly. Other than that, you're not going to find these shocks for a better price! Installed them on a 2010 Nissan Titan with the Rancho 4" lift kit.

Great Shocks
Great Shocks, best price around. Installed these with my 4" Rancho Lift, they are great, smooth ride - and they come with the MyRide for free! Can't wait to install that and try it out!
