The Seirus Super Padded Protective Shorts provide super protection for your butt, tail-bone and hips. They are made mostly of 4-way stretch Lycra which unlike a tailored garment fits snuggly all over. The padding provides protection for the bum, tail bone, & hips. The padding is both breathable and removable and insulates against snow when sitting. There is no padding on the front and the shorts are about 1/2" to 5/8" thick and fit comfortably under pants. This bum protector has removable breathable pads. The shorts do double duty in that they also insulate against snow when sitting. Padding is less than an inch thick so they should not be noticeable under loose fitting clothes. They have a comfortable waist band with draw cord. Color is black. These pants are Unisex and stretch to accommodate different shapes.

NOT "super padded" on the tailbone area
I bought these for learning to snowboard, as the first few times (without padding) I came home with a bruised tailbone. These help a bit, but honestly, they're not the best for this use, as the padding is not as thick as I had hoped on the butt. The padding on the hips seems thicker, so if you're using them for something where you're more likely to fall on your hips or the sides of your butt, they'd be better. But it seems to me like the area of the padding right on the tailbone is thinner than the other areas? So if you're taking hard falls directly on your tailbone, they are certainly not "super padded." As far as fit, I'm 5'5" and 115 lbs, and the Small/Med size fits me very comfortably.

These shorts fit me well as a 115 lb. 5'5" female. The legs come down long enough to where they fall slightly above my knee which is the length I was looking for. The material is snug, meaning all the padding stays in place, but still comfortable and flexible and not restrictive or overly tight at the waist. The only downside is that the tailbone padding is somewhat thin. I have yet to wear these shorts whilst snowboarding (which is what I purchased them for) but I may try to find some extra padding material that I can cut up and insert into the tailbone area before hitting the slopes(fortunately there are entry points to insert / remove the existing padding for washing, meaning I can try to add more of my own padding for extra protection). If the tailbone padding had been thick enough, I would have given these shorts five stars...but because they fell short in this regard, I could only give three. But like I said, I will likely keep them and try to modify them -- because out of the four items I purchased off Amazon for this purpose, these were the best of the bunch. The other items I tried either fit horribly or offered even less tailbone protection.

My coach then recommend me to have a butt pads
I bought this because I had a serious contusion on my tail bone when I skated and cost me nearly two monthly off ice. My coach then recommended me to have a butt pads. Affordable price compared to other sellers. Tried them on today, haven't got on the ice but everything look so far so good. The only problem is that the tail bone pad is a little too big to fit so it moves around sometimes. Overall the product manages to cover most of my butt which makes me feel safer.

but the padding is very minimal and the worst part is that the padding already disintegrated
So, I've used these a number of times. They fit well and they aren't too noticeable, but the padding is very minimal and the worst part is that the padding already disintegrated. I have no idea how, probably just by using it. It's literally as thin as a centimeter now; it's completely useless.

No padding under sit bones when sitting
I bought this to protect my sit bones while sailing. However when I sit, the shorts expand leaving gaps between the padding. Since the seams right along my sit bones, there is NO padding there and no way to add padding since the pockets are on either side of the seam. I am really not sure how these would protect anyone from a fall directly on their rump.

Great for snowboarding! Order a size up though (I'm 32/33 waist - ordered a LG/XL and fits perfect)
Went snowboarding yesterday, landed on what would have been my tailbone 2 times - the pads protected my tailbone from the fall. All I felt was the impact spread across my bottom, no pain whatsoever. Although, there wasn't much ice, these seem to have decent protection for your tailbone - especially for the price! I have only used them once, but they held up well snowboarding all day. Also, these shorts fit well - I am a 32/33 waist, I purchased a LG/XL (I read other reviews that mentioned to purchase a size up). They fit great, are breathable, and super easy to maneuver in.Overall, great product for the price.

Best padded pants available in Amazon
My wife and I bought these pants for snowboarding after trying cheaper brands available in Amazon (Triple 8, and others) and these were the best, best padding, best butt coverage, best fit. I'm 32 waist and these pants in Medium size were too tight, if you are 32/34 waist I recommend them in L/XL size. The only drawback is that the padding gets thinner after some falls, I'm hoping to being able to replace the padding or supplement it as the padding is removable (another pro!).

They fit perfectly for me. The padding on the hips are removable this is what exactly i need for snowboarding. The padding on the buttocks area is wide literally covers the whole buttocks and tail bone area.

Good quality shorts!
The padding could have been a little thicker for me because I am sixty two and have had a hip replacement and had a bad fall last year. Other than that they are a good quality crash pants.
