Good
Great beginners RC hobby toy, but doesn't last long off-roading

Great, but requires maintenance.
Fun out of the box (ours was yellow, not the blue in the picture). It's crazy fast. However, we have encountered a design flaw where the battery rubs against the center driveshaft. In our case we didn't notice until it had rubbed all the way through! We replaced it with the 15$ aluminum driveshaft and it was fun to take everything apart. Also had to rebuild one of the shocks and refil it with oil. If you want something that runs maintenance free... this isn't it.

NOT HAPPY WITH FIRELANDS
Item arrived DOA. DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Called firelands and they said it was a certain part that was malfunctioning instead of replacing the whole car. It's been over two weeks. Still haven't received the part...

Garbage RC Car
My son purchased this car and loved it for about the first 10 minutes until the tie rod broke. We figured it must have been a dud and took it back and bought a 4 pack. Charged it back up and the next time he ran it, he broke another one. Mind you he is driving it up and down the street, not off road and crazy. For Christmas, we decided we would buy him the aluminum tie rods and figured this would solve the problem... until he drove it on his last plastic tie rod and stripped the gear box. He has literally driven this car less than 6 times. We took it to the store and it will cost us over $30 to replace the gear box for a vehicle we have hardly driven. On top of that, the store has had the vehicle for going on 4 weeks and is no where closer to having the part in as they were the day we dropped it off. Customer service is TERRIBLE and not helpful at all. They don't stand behind their products. Save your money and go somewhere else.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!!!!
My twin boys each have one of these trucks and after using them about 3 times, we were told that this series !8TR, and !8SC had problems with the Water Resistant ESC, Receiver, Servo Module. The first one stopped working so we went out and bought another one because we liked the first one so much and we were told the problem was fixed. It was amazing how the young man knew exactly what I was talking about. So after spending the $100.00 on each one, we are sitting with 2 trucks that do not work. I called the company and they have a warranty of 30 days, so the young man asked me to pay another $33.00 x 2 + freight for the parts. Needless to say, this is 1/3rd of the cost for the whole truck. What should I do?

Good for the first 30 minutes, ONLY. Junk after that!
This truck is no better than a Wal-Mart R/C toy that goes in the trash after it breaks. The fact that parts are available to repair this truck is essentially there to lead you to believe that it is hobby class vehicle. It's not!My son recently bought this truck. In three days of ownership we've had to go to Hobbytown each day for repair or supplies. One of those trips was on us for a mistake we made while running the truck. The supplied wall battery charger is only a 1/2 amp charger. It takes forever to charge the supplied battery. Such a joke. You're immediately forced to buy a $19.99 "quick charger" in order to enjoy running the truck multiple times in one day. We also chose to buy a second battery so my son could run the truck while the other battery charged. To the hobby store we went.Day two, the truck stops running. To the hobby store it goes. Apparently the truck had sucked in dirt and small pebbles through the motor and into the drive gears which eventually jammed the gears up so they wouldn't turn. Thus no response when calling for throttle. This after only about an hour and a half total run time. And 95% on pavement.Next problem, the solder attaching the negative wire to the motor breaks off. Out with the soldering iron for a presumably quick fix. WRONG! The issue is a deeper one as once I solder the wire back on to the motor its continuity is still broken. So now it appears the truck needs a new motor. This motor hasn't run more than 2 1/2 hours tops and it has already broken. Not burned up, but broken! This vehicle is poorly designed and of poor quality. I recommend avoiding Helion at all costs.Next step is to see if Hobbytown will stand behind this pathetic product. Stay tuned!

FUN! FAST! UPGRADEABLE! INEXPENSIVE!
Love It!!!!!!!!!!!! You will not find a better, upgradeable, very inexpensive to repair (parts), fun, starter vehicle than this. The first day I bought it for my son, I let him play first, then daddy got to play :) I ran it into the curb and it started pulling to the left real bad, even after the adjustable dial was all the way adjusted out. The site was very helpful. I had to take 1 screw out at the servo (they told me where to find it) center the wheels and center the adjustable steering dial and put screw back in and car was fixed. They said worse case was a $10 part to fix and instructions on how to replace. I Highly recommend this car. It is so much fun. We have jumped it, got it soaking wet, completely muddy, washed it off and it keeps going. The battery lasts about 20 min. It does take 4-5 hrs to recharge, but an additional upgraded battery is only $15.
