Reliable protection for chainsaw work
These chaps provide solid protection and feel sturdy without being overly bulky. The apron style is easy to adjust, and the orange and black design adds good visibility. They’re a must-have for anyone working with chainsaws regularly. Durable and dependable gear.

Good quality, thick material
I hope never to test the intended purpose of these, but I think they are of high quality with a good design. The outer material feels thick and durable. The padding helps if you have to kneel (I did, on concrete). The 3 straps around the shin just barely fit around a Size 10 fireman's boot (bought at a yard sale). If I wore regular boots there would be extra strap, but it has Velcro to keep it from flapping. The thigh strap snaps easily - I have it just a hair loose. The belt folds and has snaps for short legged people like me. It unfolds up to sit high on the waist of long legged people. The snaps on the straps make it easier and faster to put on and take off than I realized at first - the fist time putting them on was a chore but I was adjusting things and learning what goes where. The easy on/off using snaps is encouraging me to put them on even for short chains saw stints. The wrap around calf is really nice on a cold day (38F) and gives me confidence when chain sawing as well as protecting from brambles. (But you still have to be careful and maybe a bit scared!!) i would buy again if they got stolen. (I do not want to test the safety functions. :)

Good coverage but heavy
These look like they will be durable, and provide very good coverage. They are several times heavier than the standard chaps they are replacing though. As such they pull down on my hips more than I'm used to. They are also a pain to put on, compared to my current standards chaps. This means I'll probably need to keep them on while I'm working. I could keep my old chaps handy and if I needed to grab the saw for quick cut while working in the woods it took seconds to don them. I've been wearing these around home while I'm working in the yard to see if I like them enough to keep them before I get them dirty. As mentioned by other postings, both legs are cut for the right leg instead of opposing. This means the buckles are harder to reach on one side. I do like the adjustable length with the waist band that rolls down about an inch and a half.Update: I wore these for 15 minutes while splitting wood in 80° weather and had to take them off. It's like wearing heavy insulated long underwear while physically active. I was in the act of returning them, but my wife insisted I keep them for when I'm cutting in cold Wisconsin weather. I went back and ordered a replacement pair of standard class B chaps for hot weather work. I neglected to mention that a previous Pair of chaps took a hit while I was clearing a safety zone around a tree. I never even felt it and wondered why my saw stopped so suddenly. There was about a 4" tear in the thigh region and the saw had stopped instantly with a load of fibers jammed in. I haven't cut without chaps in years and will never cut without them.

Good quality.
I have only worn them 2 times and being 78 and using a chain saw most of my life off and on. It is too cumbersome for me, and I am not as flexible as i need to be. I would still advise most people to use them. You have to think about Every move you make, be phisically able to handle the weight and power of the saw, stop before you get too tired. One wrong move, you Will get hurt!

They fit a 36-40 length well .
The fold down waist is a game changer. Still haven’t figured out what to put in the long pocket on the leg, but they are comfortable and serve their purpose very nicely. They also fold up into a compact package for easy storage.

What I need/want
I made a mistake of ordering another brand and Class B and immediately sent them back. The class B fit so loosly in the thigh and calf that if the chain were to hit them the apron style chaps would just twist out of the way and offer little protection. Plus on my frame of 6' tall and around 185 pounds the class B didn't offer any inner thigh protection. These Technical wrap cover much more of my inner thigh and can be adjusted so that they should stay in place and offer very good protection if ever needed. 8 layer protection and seem to be well made. I hope I never get to actually test them but feel more comfortable having them. I've used chainsaws for around 50 years and I'm just now getting more protective equipment since I've started using a chainsaw mill and I'm using the most powerful commercial chainsaw made ( MS 881 Magnum in orange and white, can you guess)
