Lightweight and fast
I’ve always owned an iPhone and iPad for general day to day computing, but for anything major or needing to be sat down for any period, I’ve always used a windows computer. I used to build them with the help of my son in law and repair them, but there comes a time when I couldn’t keep switching from iOS to windows and visa versa, and my trusty windows laptop finally failed and it was time to upgrade to a Mac. It wasn’t too difficult to get to grips with the different operating system, seeing as it’s very similar to iOS.The whole machine is very well laid out, the keys are responsive and light, but the track pad has taken a while to get used to, and it’s totally different to a normal windows laptop. Ie mainly the hard push click rather than a light tap, two or three fingers to move the page up and down and shift between windows. Mind you there are plenty of online instructions on how to use it, along with a ‘how to use’ program on the laptop to study at your own pace. What also struck me, was how everything opens up so fast, apps, programs, web pages etc, as soon as you click on them it’s there, no computer thinking about it, no pinwheels, even films load and play straight away, even from an outside source like a flash drive. The magnetic charging lead if a novel idea, and extremely useful if you forget that you have it on charge and just walk away with it, I use these magnetic chargers a lot with my iPhone and iPad, saves a fortune in cables. The laptop is very lightweight and I’m finding that I’m using it more than my iPad now, as it fits neatly in your hand or on a tray while sitting down in your armchair. The only feature I do miss is the lack of a dvd drive, but as I already had a external drive, I found with the help of a USB C hub I’ve been able to bring it back into use, when required, along with a Bluetooth mouse, card reader etc.The colours are crisp and clear with the 1080p liquid retina screen, sound is the same on the 4 speaker system, when playing films and music.Battery life is huge, up to 18 hours, obviously it does depend on what your doing. Charging is super fast, as long as you use a fast charger and cable.First thing I did though, was get a clear protective case, to protect that lovely blue case, as I carry the laptop around with me in a backpack, and don’t want to scratch it.All in all I’m very pleased with the Mac, yes it does take some getting use to, if you come over from a windows based machine, but it’s worth it in the end.

Great Value Entry Level MacBook
Pros- The MacBook Air has a premium build quality and exceptional design. The metal frame feels reassuringly sturdy and the keyboard feels incredible to type on.- The M2 Processor is fast and efficient and will cover the vast majority of users needs outside of professional video editing and gaming. It breezes through watching 4K videos whilst multitasking on additional screens.- The MacBook Air has no fans and is completely silent in operation. This is great if you are using it in a quiet room, library or home office.- The MacBook Air is light weight and portable, making it a great option for students to take to lectures.- The display is phenomenal, it is crisp clean and has the most accurate colour replication that I have seen on any laptop.Cons- The laptop is a finger print magnet and quickly appears dirty. The new midnight blue colour is particularly susceptible to this issue. It is also extremely easy to scratch and doing so will reveal the silver metalic colour of the metal. This means you feel that you need to be very delicate using the laptop compared to others which are more rugged.- Apple's OS will take some getting used to if you are a windows user. It is less intuitive to use. One example is that on a mac you cannot drag and snap windows side by side. To do this you have to purchase an app from the appstore. It feels like basic features like that should be standard.
