The best thing since sliced bread!
Having had all of our downstairs changed to solid wood I decided to treat myself to a little toy to help keep the floors looking clean. I'm actually writing this review while laying bed listening to our little buddy cleaning away downstairs. We have two children and a choc lab who continues to shake his hair off in every room. This hoover is absolutely a must for anyone with solid floors! We use it every other day and mop when I can be bothered to change the base. I will split the review into the main parts I think people need to be aware off.1) Cost. Don't spend anymore than around £200 for these. Wait for the deals that appear each month.2) Set Up. Note this hoover only allows set up connection via 2.4ghz WiFi. Most modern home internet set ups run on 5ghz. If like me you are unable to switch from 5 to 2.4, then you will have to force your mobile into 2.4, to do this, take the hoover and your mobile into your car, drive away from you home until you lose you WiFi connection. Then drive slowly back to your home until the WiFi connection reappears, stop your car! Now start the connection process, your mobile should automatically now be on 2.4. Get to close to your home and you will be back to 5. Why take car? Well you will look like an idiot walking down the street holding a hoover while looking at your phone! Other than that, it's straight forward.3) Prep. Before every clean, you need to prep the floor, remove socks etc. I remove the dog bed and rug, it does not cope very well at all going over medium to large rugs.4) Cleaning. Excellent, picks up all the little dirt, dust and hairs you would expect from a large hoover. I empty it after each clean, doubt it could do two cleans without emptying all of our dog hair! No dog, you would probably get around 3 cleans.5) App. Easy to use. quite a few functions like spot clean, no go areas, suction power. This has to be one of the best gadgets I have purchased, amazing technology, just think what they will be doing in 5 years!

I love love love this, so good for the price.
I was really sceptical about vacuum robots, I did a bit of research and there were really mixed reviews on all the ones that I looked at, so I decided to buy a cheapish one as a bit of a gamble. I am so glad I did, it is brilliant. I managed to set it up all fine and I think the App is great and really easy to use. The robot had a bit of trouble the first time I used it and it lost it's way, I noticed there was a software update pending, so I ran the update on the App (just a press of a button so easy to do), after the update the robot has worked perfectly. I have so far used it 4 times and each time it has been great. I love the fact it goes under the sofa's and picks up so much dust and dirt from underneath. It is quiet enough to put your feet up and watch TV whilst it works away. I have some cables under the sofa, which I moved the first time, but on subsequent cleans I have left them and the robot navigates them OK (although you are advised to not leave them out). I have not used the mop function yet, so I can't comment on that, but as a vac it has so far been brilliant. I would urge anyone that is in two minds about taking the plunge to go for it, I am so far very pleased that I did.

Not Good
DO NOT BUYWe bought this to do general everyday cleaning to keep the cat hair down to something manageable. It isn't anywhere close to perfect. It misses stuff. Its suction isn't amazing. But it is relatively cheap and it works but now LIDAR has stopped working and so it bangs into all the furniture. You'll get better results pushing a vacuum around and you'll still need to do that but if this worked as supposed to it just reduces the amount of time and effort spent doing the work yourself.A few months in and it lost wifi pairing and refuses to reconnect so I can't remotely set it or set up zones. Disappointing.Lefant do not respond to customer service requests. Amazon don't intervene. Should have bought a proper brand.

It does require a fair bit of thought
Overall I am impressed with this product. It's a good price, and it does clean well when all the stars align. To summarise, I'd say - it does work (I've not bothered with the mop). BUT, the initial setup for me was horrendous, as I couldn't get the map to save. To make this work properly, you need to get at least one map save to work - then its plain sailing from there.** It has to run from scratch, map out the entire floor - try and clean it - then return to the dock and recharge **If you have a simple floor layout, with nothing in there - it's easy. Therefore my advice would be to make it nigh on impossible for it to fail, then add your "no-go zones".Positives:1/ It will clean your floor well if clear of obstructions - you still need to tidy up2/ When setup correctly, it will adapt to an environment - e.g. chairs that move, items it can't get around etc.3/ Integration with Alexa works - i.e. "turn on hoover", "turn off hoover"4/ If it can get under your sofa etc., it does take a lot of the pain out of hoovering as it can get to areas the hoover cannot5/ Battery life is brilliantNegatives:1/ It needs to map out the floor first. Unless it completes a full cycle, and recharges itself - the discovered map will NEVER save. To add insult to injury, this is not set by default either, so you need to set this yourself2/ Setting no-go zones is finickity, but it does work. However, if these involve carpets or rugs, you need to be especially on the ball....3/ Ikea rugs (thick ones) are pretty much impassible by mine, so they are no go zones. You can work around this to some degree, but even traversing them is a gamble - the robot can get "stuck" on them, and rather than give up and go home, will abandon itself there (see adhoc cleaning). It has no way of ascertaining if it is stuck on a carpet, unless the brushes get stuck4/ Adhoc cleaning - this is good, if you are say - needing the kitchen floor cleaning, only. However - I've noticed it ignores settings in the saved map, and will try and go its own way regardless. Depending on where it is, this is a bit hit and miss. It has got stuck on a rug which is in a no-go zone, so clearly ignores it for adhoc cleaning. You're better off letting it do a full cycle5/ Included dock is useless. It has got "lost" more than a few times, and not been able to dock. As it's so lightweight, I've stuck the dock to the skirting board using some gorilla tape - and that has solved this, to some degree, but not entirely. The robot will sometimes "overshoot" and keep driving with the wheels spinning, as it doesn't know its on the dock already6/ The software is pretty poor - it does work, but it's basic. It does support multiple "floors" but it doesn't zone off a floor into seperate areas, which you can name - e.g. kitchen, dining room etc. You'd have to physically take it "upstairs", which I guess might be an option - but I'm not that lazy!To summarise, I'd say this is a good entry level robot - which can work if you put the time in. There are probably others on the market which are better - but certainly, many of them are the same thing rebadged. Please read my comments and hopefully you'll understand how I've got it workI think some software updates are long overdue on this - come on Lefant, pull your fingers out!
