Deeeelicious Java!
Easy to understand, makes coffee quickly and keeps it hot but not bitter for over an hour -- most importantly, the brewing immediately after grinding makes for delicious coffee. The only tricky part is seating the grinder correctly after cleaning it. After doing that a few times, though, it gets much easier. If you press the start button and nothing happens, look to see if you forgot to put the lid on the grinder. :-) It won't work without it, and that's a good thing.

So disappointed they're no longer made
I was a Melitta Mill & Brew lover also. So disappointed they're no longer made. I was happy when I found this coffee pot as we have a height restriction of 14.5" and this fit the bill. I also liked the price. Well, you get what you pay for. The grinder stops to soon and there are big chunks of beans in the basket. I thought I could outsmart the machine but starting and stopping the grinder to get finer powder. It was then that I discovered the water doesn't get hot enough either. And I agree with another review that it's impossible to pour a cup without spilling - no matter what you try. It was a huge disappointment and after 2 weeks of fiddling, it's in the basement. Of course the box is long gone so no chance of returning but will never be used by me again.

The Best!!
We've had a number of Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffeemakers over the years. The top never fit right and it was was loud enough to wake the whole neighborhood. Cuisine is so much better designed. Coffee is good, it is quiet and easier to fill and easier to clean. A 5-star winner!!!! And not ridiculously expensive like some!

Worth the price
Easy to use and hassle free. But as mentioned by many others, (1) lukewarm coffee, you have to microwave your cup if you want hot coffee; (2) hard to pour coffee out. For pouring the last cup out, you literally need to hold the pot upside-down. Also for another but, for this price, I can live with these two imperfections. Overall, it is very good.

A big disappointment.
We bought this to replace a Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker, Brushed Metal that broke (due to an accident - not the machine's fault). This seemed like a lower cost version of the same basic idea from the same company, but after using it for almost a week, we've decided that it was a mistake not to buy the Grind "N Brew.We are always on the search for the best cup of coffee, but we did not find it with this machine. For perspective on our coffee experiences, the other coffee machines we have in current use are a Nespresso Vertuoline, an Aerobie AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker with Bonus 350 Micro Filters and a Starbucks Verismo System, Coffee and Espresso Single Serve Brewer, Black and, until recently, our defunct Grind 'N Brew. We switch between all of them. We have also had a Krups machine, an OXO Good Grips Easy Clean French Press Coffee Maker - 8 Cup , a Moka pot, a couple of Kuerigs (nope), a Nespresso Pixie Espresso Machine by De'Longhi, Aluminum , a Nespresso Citiz, and a drip pot without a built-in grinder. What We Like:— The look of the machine is very nice.— The controls are very easy to use. What We Don't Like:— The grinder in the basket seems like a good idea, except that the basket is a metal mesh basket and there is no way to use a paper filter. Too much sediment gets through metal filters and neither of us likes to drink somewhat muddy coffee - especially so for the last cup. Yes, we could run the coffee through a paper filter to remove that after it brews, but that's unreasonable.— The basket seems unnecessarily deep and the depth makes it hard to clean. Only about half of the used grounds come out when dumping them into the compost bin and the rest tend to go all over the sink when trying to rinse them out. Coffee grounds are not your kitchen plumbing's best friend, so that's a problem.— If you pour cold water into the water tank, quite a lot of condensation forms on the outs of the tank. It doesn't drip that much, but our Grind 'N Brew did not do that.— It is hard to see the cup fill lines in the water tank. It's one of the plastic "step" types and I have to jiggle the pot in order to get some reflection off the water to see what level it is at.— There is a hole at the top the water tank above the max fill line. Many coffee machines have this. But since you have to pull the machine out from under over counter cabinets in order to have enough clearance to fully open the lids to add coffee beans and water to it, water tends to slosh out of that hole when sliding the machine back into place. Again, our Grind 'N Brew did not do this.— Water collects in the ring around the top of the lid during brewing and pours off the top of the lid* in a sloppy way when tipping the pot to pour the first cup. It's a relatively small amount of water but it shouldn't be there.*This is not the same complaint that reviewers have had who have not figured out that the lid has to be turned to the "Open" position in order to pour properly.— Mainly though (and really the Bottom Line), this machine makes a weaker cup of coffee than the Grind 'N Brew using the same amount of beans. We have to add an additional scoop or even two to get the flavor we were used to. That means we are using more beans per pot, which of course translates to more $$$.I really thought we were on to something when we bought this pot, but we have been very disappointed with it.

Pouring takes practice
This took some getting used to, but it works well now. The first time we used this, coffee went everywhere when we were brewing it. Once we figured out that, coffee went everywhere when we would pour it. I would say that pouring coffee out of this is an art. It takes diligence and practice. I actually remove the top from the carafe and pour it from high above the coffee cup, the way you see tea poured in India. This is the only fool-proof way in which I have figured out how to pour coffee from this without having to clean my counters afterwards. I do like this coffee pot, though. I think freshly ground coffee beans taste the best and this makes brewing from whole beans as easy and fast as brewing from ground coffee. Well, sort of. Like I said above, it will take practice, and the brewing time is actually a bit longer. And when the beans are being ground up, it does sound as loud as grinding them in any other coffee bean grinder, which is quite loud. If you want coffee and don't want to wake up your family, or you don't have any whole beans on hand, you can use ground coffee in this pot and it will work. You can remove the grinder for easy cleaning so that they coffee always tastes great. The coffee from this tastes a lot better than that which comes from the little single-brew coffee makers. I would recommend this to a coffee connoisseur or anyone who appreciates fresh coffee. I think once you get over the learning curve, you will be truly satisfied.

Nice coffeemaker.
We were very happy to find this coffeemaker. Love that it can grind the beans and then make the coffee with just one push of a button. We also like that the carafe keeps the coffee hot for a long time without the coffee getting bitter. This purchase was a replacement for the exact coffeemaker that we were replacing. The old one was at least 3 years old and sold under the Better Homes and Garden label.
