Amtech C2970 15mm and 22mm Pipe Bender

Radius of 15mm former too tight, causes creases on the inner radius almost every time used instead of smooth 😡

This tube bender feels and looks solid, however, I couldn't use it because of a damaged former. I tried with 22mm copper tube but couldn't achieve a smooth bend due to the dents on the aluminium former. 15mm is fine with a smooth bend and no kinks in the tubes. Unfortunately I will be returning, shame as this was going to be a gift. I shouldn't have to buy a new former on a new item. Three stars because it still could be a good piece of kit.

Casting is a bit rough. Left small dents in 15mm, had to grind smooth.

Perfect, easy to use, as crazy as it is I brought this to fit a curtain rail, we have a bay window which had 3 separate poles that made opening the curtains impossible, I'd sat debating how to make it easier for a while, I had the idea to use copper plumbing pipe after unblocking the sink and seeing how many elbows had been used, its so easy to use and I don't doubt I'll use it again for something else.I would defiantly purchase again if I needed one.

Sturdy bit of kit and ideal for 15mm. For 22mm you need a lot of strength to bend copper pipe and the 15/22mm securing latch leaves nasty dents in the pipe. Manufacturer needs to address this. Ok'sh just, for price and performance but would not recommend.

It's quite clumsy to use. I should have bought separate 15mm & 22mm versions.It bends pipes well but the rough finish of the bender scratches the pipes and the clamping unit leaves very noticeable dents in the pipe. If the finished pipe work is visible then you might be disappointed.

I purchased this bender with a view to do more plumbing and gas installations Since using the item I have found that it has kinked almost half the pipes I have bended. I thought at first it was the way I was using the tool and it turns out that there is too much play in the mechanism, even when tightened. A waste of money I have spent.

I bought this pipebender from Amazon for not a lot of money. It arrived quickly and upon examination seemed to be a well built, not flimsy bit of kit. It comes with two bending slides which enable it to operate with both 15mm and 22mm. Everything about it suggests this is not just for one job and then worn out, it is rugged and the arms are very thick and strong. Upon a little oil applied to the rotating sufaces it quickly freed up and has made really good bends in copper tube with the ruggedness to last for many years. I am glad I bought this tool and recommend it, you won't need to buy another!
