Well worth it
I got the Sougayilang Baitcasting Fishing Rod and Reel Combo I haven't used baitcasters for probably 25 yrs very user-friendly only couple little backlashs easy to set up nice casting havent fished with it yet just took it out to yard and through with 5/16 weight while I get use to using, probably got 100 cast with it, can just about hit my target with in 10 at 60ft the inside of tractor tire with that weight can't wait until next weekend to take it out and fish on it but it well worth the money for beginners or people like me that hasn't used on in long time even for the ones that are experience with them I will be getting a couple more for grandchildren and myself

Very Smooth Reel, Rod Stiffer Than Expected
To be clear about the produce configuration I'm reviewing, I own the 7ft, right-hand retrieve baitcast combo. Also, this is not my first experience with Sougayilang products (I currently own 4 of their baitcast reels, and 2 of their 7ft rods).I'll start with the baitcast reel. Of the 4 Sougayilang reels that I own, this one is definitely the best constructed. There is no cheap-looking foam for the handle, and every component is well-finished. The wiffle-spool has kind-of odd slots, but I was able to thread my line through there to get a knot tied to spool the reel. I spooled the reel with 30lb braid, which was a good match to the rod (more on that below). When spooling up the reel, the level-wind did distribute the line evenly across the spool (a problem I have experienced with other baitcast reels off Amazon, including a round baitcast reel that Sougayilang sells). The reel cast and retrieves VERY smoothly, and I did make use of the magnetic braking to keep from backlashing. The manual spool tension adjustment also worked well. This reel will join me on many more fishing trips. The 7ft rod advertises a recommendation of 10-20lb line and lure weight of 1/4oz to 3/4oz, so I tied on a 1/2oz jig head and 5" paddletail shad. My experience casting the rod with this lure suggests that it would be best for a heavier lure weight (3/4oz to 1-1/4oz). The rod tip wasn't providing noticeable action casting the 1/2oz lure. The rod has a very nice gloss finish, and the guides appear well constructed and distributed along the rod (though the guides are smaller than many of my other rods, which will cause issues for anyone who ties a mono or flourocarbon leader to braided line longer than 18" in length). I wish this rod had a lure-keeper (I ended up making my own out of some leader line). The grips close to the reel seat were comfortable. The grip near the but of the rod is not my favorite, having no grip whatsoever. Because the but of the rod is not finished with a foam/rubber grip, I find that it is getting scratched up from being placed in the rod holders of my boat. This rod is probably great for someone fishing with heavier lures, but I will likely pair the reel with a lighter action rod better matched with the weight baits I typically throw.

Was promising until it wasn't
The rod did not fit onto the other rod piece when trying to put it together. There was an inch or so gap. Also, the reel kept coming apart and the fishing line would not winde up properly no matter what setting we had it on. Be careful.
