Officially Licensed Sega Genesis Gen Core System w/ 20 Sega Games Built-in & Cartridge Slot - Playstation 3

Just received this and the GenMobile Sega Genesis retro systems. In regards to this Gen Core system, I could not believe how light and cheap it felt. I know it's only $45 dollars, but still the system is literally light as a feather, (moves easily when your playing it), and the controllers feel EXTREMELY cheap. The D Pad is pretty good, BUT THAT'S IT, all the buttons feel like extremely cheap plastic and the controller is so light it actually feels totally hollow.Note: You should only buy this system if you want to play the 20 installed games. They work well. Unfortunately, I HAVE TRIED 2 OTHER CARTRIDGE GAMES, AND THEY WORK HORRIBLE, NOT PLAYABLE. Super Monaco GP plays extremely slow and the sound is messed up, not original gameplay at all, so slow its not playable. Same thing with NBA Jam, the gameplay is way too slow and the sound is again messed up. The box is actually nicer than the system. Don't waste your money and be disappointed like I was. I'm selling this POS on ebay. I had a large Sega Genesis collection as a kid, but stupidly decided to chuck everything when I moved. I wanted to build a new collection with this as my main system instead of buying an old, possibly uncared for, original system. Bad idea, if you want a Sega Genesis to play your old games on, your going to have to buy an original on ebay. This emulator stuff is horrible. Sorry!

For a family Christmas present, I bought this and a bunch of used Sega game cartridges on Amazon. They Sega played for about 10 minutes then just quit. We returned it, and a few months later, they sent a different one. We played that one for about 20 minutes, then it quit, but that was because our puppy had chewed through the controller cord. I have spent months trying to find a replacement cord. It's been 10 months, and we've gotten half an hour out of it. :( If I had known it would be this way, I wouldn't have bothered.This Sega is much poorer quality than the originl black one. It looks and feels like something bought at the dollar store. It has STICKERS on the front of it!!! Jeez.

This console is very low quality. A defect is that the slot where the cartridge goes in is not manufactured properly. If a child is trying to put a cartridge in and does so incorrectly, at an angle, the cartridge slot cover is pushed all the way back so that it scrapes the wires inside the console, thus rendering it ineffective. The company where i bought it from said they would exchange it, i sent it through USPS, but without a tracking #. So when World Wide Distributers said thay never got the package, i wasn't able to prove otherwise. #1.. do not buy this console, get an original Genesis. #2.. always get a tracking # for all returns.

i bought this system to play tournaments with Coach K. the system will only play exhibition mode. it wont scroll to tournament mode. i need a refund. i bought the original sega system.

It's poorly emulated, looks ugly as hell.Sounds are horrible, gameplay suffers from major slowdown. This product is NOT worth it in any respect when there's better options.If you want the real retro feel, get a real genesis they're 30-40 bucks and will work forever. I've had mine since 1991 and it works flawlessly, never needed cleaning. Let's see this garbage work for 3 years before breaking.You're better off with either a collection on another console Sonic Mega Collection PS2/GCN/PC or Genesis Collection for PS2/PSP which wont run you more than 20 bucks, if you want something that plays Genesis carts then get a REAL Sega Genesis is 30-40 bucks and most games are cheap 5-20 bucks off most websites including amazon. Or you can even get a lot of Sega games on your 360/Wii off the Wii's Virtual console or Xbox Live.I won't even recommend this for your kids if you think they might break something more expensive it's not worth it, the quality is that low. I got my Genesis when I was 5 years old, still works today, with no issues that should tell you something.Avoid this garbage at all costs, you have MANY other options with Sega Genesis, don't be fooled.

... And that's all there is to say.The pre-loaded games worked alright for about 20 minutes, then after attempting to play a cartridge the system stopped working altogether. This product is a poorly constructed, over-priced decoration for your dumpster.Luckily the outlet I bought it from is giving me a refund.
