The Seventh Tower #5: Into Battle

In the fifth installment of the Seventh Tower series, things get heated as the Ice Carls, led by Milla, launch an invasion of the castle. Meanwhile Tal goes back to Aenir to find the Emperess and give her the Red Keystone. This chapter in the series has lots of action and a few sudden twists that change everything. It's definatly one of the better books in the series, with the ending compelling the reader to start the sixth and final book, The Violet Keystone.

This is a story that takes me back to my youth. I remember when I had dreams after reading book six, feeling like I was in the world. Garth Nix builds a very captivating world, and I finished reading this series for the second or third time right after I graduated from university with a BA. In this world, there are two groups of humans. One group lives in a castle and there is a heirarchy of lower class citizens who don't have mastery over light and higher ranked people who have magical stones that allow them to wield different colors of light, and there is another group of humans that live out on the ice.

Thank-you! Just finished this book yesterday and have the last one to read of the 6. Kids are captivated and I have to say, I think that Garth Nix has a unique style of writing. Not a typical child-adventure series. Not too violent and perfect series if you are looking one to keep the child's interest. The first of the series starts out right and keeps them wanting to read more until they are done with the whole set. I have read Nix books before and have not been disappointed.

This is one of the best books I've ever read(the left behind series is the best). If you've read all the other ones this is a must buy, but if you haven't then you don't know what your missing. I think that "Into Battle" is a very good cliff hanger and it will kill you to wait for the sixth book. Milla and Tal come to their greatest challenges in this book and it will make you wish that the book will never end. This book has an awsome relavation in it and it is totally awsome. The Seventh Tower series is a great read! Recommended for older elementary through adults.

I am an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, romance and historical novels. I found this entire series to be exceptional. I am an adult and these seemed to be written for a younger generation but I could not put these books down!If you would like some light fantasy reading that is different from many of the books out there, then this is for you.

Great series. Couldn't wait to read on.
