Love it.
I cannot relate exactly how much of a joy this product is to own.In the last house I lived in, the oven was flaky. It would change temperatures on its own and never maintain a consistent cooking temperature. After my landlord refused to fix it (since he was cheap) and having a VERY bad thanksgiving experience, I went out and bought this beauty. So, for Christmas the same year, we decide to have another Turkey. Out comes my new Rival roaster, and we give it a shot. I have a big family (5 kids) so I put in a 24 lb turkey, the max capacity it says it can have. I set it to 375 degrees and let it rip. Now, the box gave no real indication of cooking time, so I was going by the time I spent in the oven. Oh, and also since I'd never cooked one in the Roaster before, I didn't stuff the bird, but cooked the stuffing separately in the oven.Oh my god. Not even 4 hours later, I had a done bird. Not only was it done, it was beautifully done. It was browned and delicious looking. So I pulled it out and put it on the cutting board. I then immediately had to run for a towel, because the juices were just FLOWING out of the bird. This thing was super moist and tender. In all honesty one of the BEST TASTING turkeys I had ever eaten. The meat was white, moist, and tender. The lid to this thing has vents on the top that allows the pressure out, but keeps enough moisture in to keep the bird nice and moist. On the plus side? It sits anywhere and cooks, and frees up your oven space for all of your sidedishes.I know own my own house and have a brand new dual-oven. I still use my Rival Roaster for Turkeys, because of the tremendous job it does. Now, I did have to buy a new one, because my old one got damaged in the move. I got the first one on sale at Target for about $30, and had to pay more than double that this year to replace it. WORTH EVERY PENNY.Cleanup is a snap. I prefer to clean things before the cool down completely. There is a pan that sits in the roaster, that you pull out and clean in the sink. Now, this model is pretty big, but its still doable. Once you clean that (and the lid), you are done. Put it away until next year. Some people get liners for these, but I haven't tried them because Ive heard too many horror stories about the liners melting to the sides of the pot.So, to this day, I wont cook a turkey in anything but my roaster. And my turkeys are the most moist and tender I've ever had. I just cannot recommend this product enough. I haven't even used it to make any of the other cool stuff it can do.... yet!

Best little oven in the west!
If you seem to need "another oven" in your kitchen, seriously consider this. We had a product issue with a broken handle that resulted in a new one being shipped right out. I am delighted. But the performance is really great. Have done turkey, chicken and roasts in it now. Food cooks faster (turn it down 25 degrees eg. 325 instead of 350), is extremely juicy, and cooked through and through. The unit is easy to clean, easy to use and runs on 1450 watts (15 amp breaker will handle this) instead of your oven power. It does do a fair job of browning, so address that separately on the stove top if that is an issue. This allows the main course to be done in this roaster, leaving the oven for breads and other food that makes a meal complete. And it moves the heat out of the kitchen, a good thing in Phoenix AZ. And you can use it as a warming tray, a serving station and many more uses.I like it more than I expected. It performs better than I expected. It is easier to clean than I expected. And ... the food tastes great!

Over all a great product
Even though this roaster has a few minor details, over all I love it. I have outlined the good and the bad below.Benefits:1. Great for a second oven. This is especially nice during the holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas). I can bake up to a twenty-pound turkey or two twelve-pound spiral cut hams in a single roaster.2. Great for keeping food warm. During the holidays or any time when you have out of state relatives coming in, you can prepare food and have it warm when your guests arrive. My mom and dad come in from a distance of over 1000 miles and you never know for sure when they are going to arrive. This way I can fix some pork chops and allow them to simmer a little in the roaster. This way they have a warm home cooked meal waiting for them when they get in.3. It's an extremely versatile kitchen appliance. I have baked turkeys and hams in it. In addition, I have fixed pot roasts, chicken, chili, and stew with amazing results.4. It doesn't heat up the house as much as a conventional oven. During the summer time I occasionally get a craving for a roast or even a nice turkey. This way I can fix a nice hot meal and without a hot house. This saves me money on the AC bills. In fact, I bet you over the last five years I have save more than enough to pay for the unit.5. Dependable...I have had my two roasters for five years now. In addition, I bought two for my mom and dad and all four are still working fine.6. Safer than an outdoor turkey cooker. I don't have to worry about a grease fire like I would with a turkey cooker.7. Turkey is extremely moist. Because the bird is halfway submerged in juices it comes out very very moist and tender.Negatives:1. The cord is way to short. Without a proper extension cord you are guaranteed to have this cooker right up against the wall where it is plugged in. While it is still safer than an outdoor turkey cooker, one should seriously consider investing in a properly rated extension cord.2. It takes up a lot of space when not in use. While it is a great space saver for cooking a turkey, it takes up a lot of space in our pantry. I have seriously considered storing it in our shed outside. However, I am not sure even with its dependability how it will handle the heat of summer and the cold of winter.3. It's a real pain to clean. Unless you have an over sized sink this thing is frustrating to say the least to clean. I have found that I can just barely fit in the bottom of my dishwasher. But for best results I have to rinse it off using the sink sprayer and then place it in the dishwasher. In addition, I have to wash the different parts separately or they will not come clean. My friend actually uses his bathtub to wash his. I am not sure on the cleanliness of this method, but I guess you can try it.4. My biggest pet peeve is that you have no idea when it's actually on or off. Then is no indicator light. The only way to tell is by the heat coming off the unit.5. Unfortunately the outside gets hot to the touch. While it will not cause second or third degree burns, it can cause pain and a first-degree burn. Important safety note.....KEEP kids away from the unit.

Excellant Value
I love the size. The directions were clear. It is easy to use. It is like having a second oven without taking up the space of an oven and without the electricity cost of an oven. It is easy to clean. It is portable. Great for pot luck. It makes preparing and serving dinner for 20 - 40 people so much easier. There is absolutely nothing I do not like about this oven.
