Great bag but just misses the mark for my own personal travel needs
I have mixed feelings on this bag. I had been debating on getting it as Osprey seems to make the best convertible rolling backpack style luggage. It went on sale and I scooped it up. Amazon Prime always delivers fast!So the main bag itself is pretty great. I'm going on a month long trip and will likely be rolling this most of the time. But I also know parts of my trip, I will need to carry it. My bad back keeps me from using a travel backpack for the whole trip anymore. Getting older sucks. haha. I did a test pack and filled it with as much stuff as I could and then threw on it on my back. The main bag can hold a lot more than it seems at first glance. The compartment that holds the straps on the back are easy to get to and can go on quick. I advise you to made the proper adjustments to it at home so that it's ready to go at your destination. The bag is remarkably comfortable. When wheeled, it seems to roll pretty well.My real problem with this is the detachable day pack. For my needs, it's just a little bit too small. I travel with photography gear and even my scaled back travel gear doesn't fit. And it's really just the Olympus OMD E-M5 w/ 2 lenses. Very small compact camera system. If the day pack were just an inch deeper, it would be fine. But as it is, just too small. I'm considering returning this and getting the Osprey Sojourn which is 28 in/80L and has the same convertible backpack feature but no attached day pack. Makes more sense since I need to bring my own seperate day pack anyway. Also, I would probably also kept this if the day pack could have been lockable to the main bag. I could have easily used the day pack attached as a little estra storage and checked the whole thing but since it is not lockable, there's no way I could do that. Unfortunate.Osprey really makes great quality bags and this is 5 star luggage for some, just not for me.

Its 75 Liters!
Its small. 75 liters to be exact. I thought that would be big enough for my upcoming 9 day trip to Yosemite but its not even close. To the reviewer that said he went to Peru for 24 days with this bag.... it would of helped if you said this wasn't your only bag. There is no way this guy went to Peru for 24 days with just this bag. To future reviewers out there, buyers really do take in consideration your reviews. So I'm 6'5, 240 lbs and a size 14 shoe. This bag would barely hold 3 days worth of clothes and my hiking boots. Also of note, this is my second and last Osprey bag. They seem to gear towards comfort over packability. The frame takes up a lot of room in the main compartment. Its the same thing with the Stratos bag I got last year that has a large curvature to make room for a breathable back. Although I love the breathable back for short 5-6 mile hikes its not practicable for a full day "dawn to dusk" hike. Same with the Meridian, the frame takes up far too much room in an already small main compartment. This is a weekend bag at most for a big man. Smaller people, maybe 5-6 days if you are a small shoe size and not packing more than one pair of shoes. If you really want a wheeled duffle that can also fit as a backpack... by all means buy this thing. It looks great, but I'm not going to test it. Its way too small for my needs. I'm probably going to end up with the REI 34". Price, volume, and reviews seems to meet my needs the most.

Best Travel Bag- Worth Every Penny!
I travel a lot and was getting sick of buying new bags every year. This bag has changed my travel life! Very sturdy, high quality construction. Has external grips/handles on top, bottom, and side of bag for easy loading. Main bag converts from a roller bag into a backpack, and small backpack on front releases to become a day pack. If I am not using the backpack feature (would suggest using it minimally since the roller frame adds bulk, but this works great for me as I travel both western and developing worlds), I take this out (located by the metal hand truck) and store my flat shoes in there. Bag has many internal pockets. Exterior hidden zippers. Can't say enough good things about this bag. Totally worth the cost. Another colleague who travels as much as I do (6-8 months a year) said she has had her bag for 4 years and it is still going strong. That sold me! It's definitely worth the cost! Frame is lightweight. This is a check on bag size. It's a little smaller than my normal bags but this hasn't been an issue as it seems to hold more that what it appears to be able to.

COLOR FAIL - DRAB ARMY GREEN w/out contrast
COLOR not AS EXPECTED - Osprey and Amazon represent a much brighter green. The bag is not this bright "patina green" -- I would not have ordered this color, living in a military town - far too easy to confuse with Army duffle in baggage claim. There is Little to NO CONTRAST between sections. I am viewing this advertised color on a new MacBook Pro. Amazon or Osprey - you need to re shoot these photos. Green is much brighter in both company pictures. Disappointing b/c I may as well have ordered the black one for much less money.

5'7" 130lbs female fashionista and world traveler finds this backpack more than suitable!
I am very happy with the purchase of this bag! I bought it to take on a five week backpacking trip through Europe. I would have gone with the traditional style backpackers pack but due to a double knee injury, I was worried about having to carry it everywhere. This bag is worth every penny. Surprisingly comfortable to carry on your back, Plus the convenience of being able to roll it and not worrying if it's gonna fall apart was a blessing!I tested it out on a three day camping trip in the mud at a festival and by the time I went to Europe it's still look brand-new!The day pack looked small but it fits tons of stuff! Honestly Worth the money since it has a lifetime guarantee.

Would not recommend for 3 mile hikes or more
Purchased this to travel to India for 2 weeks. I knew I needed something more than a backpack, (age 52) and need a few more items than a backpack could accomadate so chose this in the event I needed to put it on my back to carry. Most areas I could wheel the suitcase, but train stations I had to carry up and down stairs and a few places I needed to put on my back and walk. Managed quite well for shorter distances. Would not recommend for 3 mile hikes or more. I will serve me well in future travels as well and the guarantee with Osprey products is excellent.

Great buy
It took me all around India for 6 months and its as good as new. I never used the back pack bit though. The wheels are very stable and it has a great handle so I could manage - even going over a beach it wheeled well!. The only down side really is that there is a lot of room and weight taken up with lots of compartments in the smaller backpack and when the bigger one is full you can't zip the small one on. As I was keeping under 15kgs it wasn't too much of a problem because I used the small back-pack separately. I wanted to go away for a couple of nights and thought the small one would suffice but actually there's no room in it - great for carrying the computer or iPad but not enough for thin clothes.

Fab backpacker
Really great quality bag, with sturdy wheels. It has the backpack functionality along with a cute little day pack. It's all you need for a backpacker experience.
